Personally, Unforgiven makes me think the most, but American History X is more relevant today. They are different types of movies, of course, each with their own distinct values and advantages/benefits. All four, assuredly, are splendid movies. Now that I have typed for a minute, I might change my mind: V for Vendetta is awesome too! So is 3:10 to Yuma though!

So many great movies, so little time.

American history X was the best because it shows that its not worth it to hate someone cause they are a different race or color. And this movie was more realistic than the others cause 3:10 to yuma and unforgiven have way more gun fight than they really did back then and V for vendeta was unrealistic but all of the movies were great.

Out of all the movies we watched, it's hard to choose just one to say is the best. I thought they were all great movies and yea some were a little more realistic than the other but that doesnt change wether the movie is good or bad.

Well everyone knows i thought that American History X is the best movie. i think that because its a subject that i like to learn about and i have strong opinions about. The other movies were not as easy to relate to because of the time periods.

Eric--you are exactly right! American History X is the most realistic--therefore, it might be my selection for best of the four. The other three are quite far-fetched, but cool nonetheless. Movies have to be far-fetched. Mrs. Reif-Koehn has a quote: "Drama is life with the boring parts left out." That quote is applicable to these films, for sure.

I say 3:10 to yuma because of the honor and respect that goes with half of the movie based on that. It just is so interesting and how what you do to do it. The acting was very good on how all the time ben wade escapes but always he is found again and again. The ending sucks a little but when respect takes over and ben gets on the train is cool.

The acting in all of these is absolutely exceptional; the actors would not get jobs if they could not effectively perform and portray. V was acted extremely well by Hugo Weaving, though we never see his face. The voice and non-verbal communication are terrific.

To me each movie we watched was ahmazing! i havnt seen 3:10 to yuma or unforgiven. i never realy liked those type of old west movies but these changed my mind. Their was great acting in the movies and had a great storyline in each. They both dealed with family issues. But had alot of a$$ kickin in it to make it even more interasting. They both were very unexpecting at the end. like 3:10 to yuma the father dies. and unforgiven Ned dies and he didnt do nothing. So i gota say these two movies were very great in the acting and drama of the movie. Princes and Ben Wade is my two fav characters outa unforgiven and yuma

Excellent points, Michael.

The acting of Ben Foster , who played Charlie Prince, was terrific. I loved him and hated him at the same time. Rooted for and against him at the same time. Was glad and sad when he died at the hand of Ben Wade, his boss. Look at Ben Foster's picture online--he doesn't look very tough in real life! But he sure can play a tough guy in film. His character just looked wicked and quick, cool and clever. I sure enjoyed his acting, which I found to be unforgettable.

V of Vendetta b/c it showed us on if we don't be careful something could happen like that so it opens up are eyes and is telling us to watch what we do b/c someday it could happen to us and b/c it shows love and sword fighting and to think thta someone accually could do this to people.

Mr. Christensen said...

Adam--Why do you like Charlie Prince? Isn't he a terrible guy?

Adam & Jake--Thanks for your lengthy analyses of these films. Thanks for your thinking.
