I like Josh Bradley's comment on March 17th the one on integrity. Even though he doesn't really write much I feel that it really tells how people are in the road. For example when in the beginning the guy and his kid steal the plane from Max and not thinking about how he is going to feel about them taking his property. They probably weren't thinking about what they would have felt if that had happened to him and his boy. Josh says how people in that world are mostly savages and criminals but the people that show some integrity are the ones keeping whats left of the world together and I think that's pretty cool. I also like how he summs everything up without typing a ton of words and I think that its a great way to tell someone how much integrity in a world like this really means something to the survivors of the world. When the kids are all in the tribe they were told that there would be a plane that would take them to a safe place and instead they just dropped them off and left and I don't think thats very responsible for someone who was trusted to be put in charge of something very important. Because children of that world are the most important thing for the survival of the people. Somehow the children survived and even they were growing up kind of like savages they still help out Max when he is in time of need.
"Apocolic films helps some of us live better in many ways. They make us see the way things could be if we continue to live the way we do. They show us things that we can't always see or are too stubborn to see for ourselves. Like in Wall-E it teaches us how if we don't start recycling and taking better care of our world how everything is gonna be covered in trash. They also teach us that maybe its not such a bad idea to plan ahead and create a safe house in case anything Apocalypse happens so you can keep you and your family safe. It shows you what you should grab in times like that and the best ways to get to safety. In a way they warn us to look out for people who aren't all that good and who are looking to harm you in times of need. At the same time though it teaches you how you should be the bigger person though and help others out, and never be greedy. Take only what you need in desperate times because theres always another family that could be starving or in need as well. One of my favorite Apocalyptic films is I am Legend. In the film it shows how Will Smith loses all his friends and family including his wife and daughter. He ends up living live with no one but his trusty dog for the longest time. He gets so lonely that he starts building manakins and talking to them to keep him company. This part makes me really appreciative of all the friends and family that I have now. Theres always someone to talk to when I get lonely, so I never have to worry about being alone. It also taught me that no matter how tired I get of them I should never wish that they weren't there, because if they weren't I don't know what I would do"I do agree with what Alisha, she made really good points about how if we don't change our ways we could end up like them. She made a really good comparison to wall-e. Our generation and world has such a big problem with recycling and just throwing trash on the ground when their is a trash can. Our world could end at any time, we just don't know it and won't really know it until it is too late. Making a safe house would really be a great idea and I think people should really consider doing that. Many people don't think anything is going to happen, that life isn't going to end, that everything will be okay. One day it may not be. One day our world could come crashing down and you can't do anything about it. People who prepare have a better chance in a terrible world than others do. It is all about your mindset, if you believe that you can make it through a terrible situation, then you can. If you believe you can overcome the worst situation and outcome, then you can. Setting your mind to being human and being better to the world and to others, then you can. You can do anything if you set your mind to it.
Zach ThomasPeriod 4March 23, 2015 The films we have watched are very interesting and help us learn more about our future on earth. Religion will not always be around I believe it will disappear if we have apocalyptic. I agree with Dylan Decker with the religion because I am not religious either. He has a lot of great points in his post from March 25, 2015. Religion in our lives shows us where we stand in certain people’s lives but not everyone believes in god the same way. Because I believe in God but I don’t think I need to go to church to prove my religion. My family believes in God but part of my family goes to church but then my other side does not. Dylan is saying that Max is the savior in the people’s lives. Which I agree with but we don’t all need a savior because we can be our own savior. We all in so way are the savoir of our own lives from birth to anything and everything we do. We may need to ask God for something’s but that does not mean it will come true. Dylan shows us both sides from the Heaven to the Hell side. This is some of the reasons why I agree with Dylan.
I like Mr. Sorensons blog from march 25th because austin is a religious person but he is not the type to always say god loves you or isnt the type to use quotes and say do it for jesus or something. He makes valid points how mad max is a symbol of jesus and is walking the earth the help the good and try to get rid of the bad and the sins and the cruel people who we could call almost satin. Also I like soresnons blogs from all the previous blogs because he more speaks his mind then he does anything else because he makes valid points and makes it clever and funny not just all serious and straight faced its always good to have clever and mind speaking words in the blog tasks makes it more interesting.
I like what Jeaden said on the March 26th blog task about her opinion on how each movie evolved from one another. She was saying how each movie evolves one from another and I absolutely agree about what she says. She said in the first movie there was still a town and the community had a lot more. When the movies started evolving after Max left the town and goes into the next movie #2, It starts to get uncivilized and more apocalyptic meaning and not really having everything you want like in the first movie. Jeaden said that she liked the second movie more than she liked the first one because it caught her attention more. I totally agree with that. In the first movie it was more plain and not much action going on and then the class watched the second one and to me personally that caught my attention a lot. It was different and odd and more chaotic. At some parts the movies looked really cheesy and unrealistic but then there are more realistic parts like when the people in the fortress are trying to fight off the bad people. That's kind of realistic because there trying to protect gas and gas is everything at the time. It makes people get around and movement is very good for Max and the good people. Dylan Widmann PD 4Mr. Christensen
If i had to compliment anyone in this class i would have to compliment Mr. White he has stated a ton of great explanations on max on the cross and tells Shows me personally how he feels about max being the ton strong soldier he is i really like how deep he gets in max being the good or the bad but in reality there really isn't any good people or bad like josh says you have to do you in these situations you just have to do the best you can for yourself and or your boy like in the road and in these descriptions like josh said max did what he had to do for other people and for himself and by doing what he did he made a bunch of friends and they all talk about him like the ghost he really is so like i said if i had to chose anyone it would be josh he is very intelligent and speaks his mind as best as he can. I also think that many people said a ton of great things like riley bennett because riley is very smart almost so smart if he would really try his best in school he would definitely be a 4.0 student but as i was saying I learn so much from this class i look forward to coming to English everyday its my favorite class this year the people the teaching and as a student i learn differently so i will end with this as long as you try it is fun to learn new things from the students and i have been taught a lesson and that is to listen to other people and learn from them.
i like josh whites comment Politics do have power struggles because they are always fighting and different parties want different things and they will never get things done because they are always arguing. it is true because politic are over powered and are always fighting and finding way to ruin eachother. politics will do anything to get people on there side as in say bad stuff about the other politics. Politics are not nice in any way besides when it comes to themselves. then they are goody to shoes.
Kallie Folk"Hope is a big thing that gets you through an apocalyptic. When there's no food, no shelter, nothing to stop harm from coming at you the one thing that can keep you alive and strop is HOPE. Hope is the reason why most people live so long in situations like that. There's a theory that as long as your mind tells you to stay strong and keep believing that it will get better than your body will stay strong and keep trying no matter how bad it gets. If you give up hope then what is their left to have. Once you give that up the rest of your body will slowly start to decay with it. In situations like this you HAVE to have hope and keep your head up high otherwise you can end up going down the wrong path. Just believe in yourself like the Dad and Son do in The Road. He still hopes to find food and warmth and I believe that's why he makes it so long without food. I believe that's why he makes it through those chilly nights with his son. Sure love, trust, decency, and courage have a little bit to do with how they survive as well but without hope there'd be nothing to drive them to that."I agree with Alisha. She has some powerful words in her writing. She talks about how hope is a good thing an apocalyptic. That we should all have hope. She said that hope is the reason most people live longer and keep them alive. Which I think she is right. You need hope to stay motivated. If you don’t have hope what do we have. We have a life with no faith. She also says if something about if your mind believes in it that you can actually do it. Also if you don’t have hope nothing will happen. You have to have hope not faith. That they have some hope on finding food and warmth. You have to have hope in living. You should want to live. Alisha has so many good points and good words that she used to explain the word HOPE. Alisha is a wonderful writer and should keep writing. She has powerful words. She also is an amazing person. I believe that she has a lot of hope in her world. I would love to have her faith and hope.
One of my favorite and most agreeable posts about Mad Max would be the one by Riley Bennet on March 16th of this year. The blog task asked us to compare the movie to our current world and the struggles that we deal with in todays time. In the first sentence I was blown away by Rileys wonderful way of describing both Maxs world to ours. He talks about how in both our worlds theres fights on who should be in power. With that he also mentions how there are worlds out there that people can get killed for speaking up their mind on who should be in power and how we should be grateful that we have an option to vote for who rules. He even brings up how in the movie the kids have more say on things then some of the adults in Auntie Entities place. Which is kinda like the US compared to places like Korea. Throughout Riley has a lot of great points and views on the movies. With his ideas, his amazing grammar, spelling, and way of making his words speak to us thats is the reason why I chose to compliment Rileys post.
I like Dylan's blog task that he did about trust. I agree with him how there is very little trust in the Mad Max Trilogy. He did a good job explaining how people end up turning on each other for something. He also explains how people get back lashed because they turn on there "friend" and then that person turns on them. There is not a lot of trust in these movies. I would not trust many people if any one if this world turned into an apocalyptic world. I would have no idea who to trust and who not to trust. I would still trust my parents and my family but that's about it. Everyone else would try and take advantage of me and I wouldn't let that happen. Trust is a very delicate thing and it is easily broken.
I agree with Dylan Decker that religeon will not be around for ever. It will end up being the only thing that holds some people together. Those people will will be the extremists of the society, the hardcore bible thumpers. But the majority will not be extreme, they will stop trying to rely on something they are not 100% sure exists because of the horror they are living in. It will be what keeps the extremists alive because they will be calm and no one else will want to be preached at all the time so they will be secluded and safe. Others will rely on another person and get killed because of it...Jake Garner.
I think that everyone but some people are on the same page that I am. The ideal of the shows of the Mad Max is that it had very many chanters that are very revengeful to Max that he is a outspoken person but can battle his fights pretty good for a loner. The other parts of the movies Max as a slave that he keep him handcuff. That part would be very beneficial to him at the end which it’s true that the slave want to help or is in love with one of the village girls.
I like Dylan's blog and how he talks about integrity people hold in the things they need to let out tell people around them. If you believe you can do great things. I know in our world we have different beliefs. I know in our lifetime we will all do great things, we have struggles in our daily life but at the end of the day we strive to get through the things that become hard for us.. when something becomes hard for us we will try try again. If there is a midlife crisis i promise you that you will get through it. If you're having a tough time talk to a counselor, talk to a friend or even a parent they will help you out a great deal of problems. life is like an open road you never know which way life will take you or when the road is going to end so be grateful for what you have. smile be happy and live each day to the fullest. Dont let anyone get in your way because they're not happy or their jealous of you. Never let your guard down always be positive and do good for others.
I like Riley Bennetts comment on March 25ths blog about Max being a savior. I like that he compared Max to a prophet or Shepherd because Max doesn't stay in one place for too long and keeps moving forward with no direction or thought of where he is going. Riley also explains that max is a savior when he finds the children. He also explains that Max can separate right from wrong. I agree with his statement because I didn't see Max turning into a savage gang member. I also like Rileys statement about Max is a civilized savage. I agree with it because Max still has morals but he can be a little bit of a savage sometimes.
I like Alisha Elznics post from March 16 about power struggles in our current society. She talks about about who's going to be the captain or boss in their everyday life and how we all wanna be on top and how sadly we often go to far to achieve that. Our government today cant seem to come together to make good decisions about what's best for our country. I like how she talks about how we treat the young as if they have no rights, no say in anything and aren't capable of very much and how unfair it is. We are supposed to do this and do that, everything and society tell us to but then we do it and we have no say. She says we're destined to destroy the worlds and I wonder about that sometimes. Just watching the news about what's going on with terrorism and all that stuff in the Middle East is scary. And it all comes down to power struggles in the end and I think that it sucks.
I would have to say that taborr ellenbecker had a good comment because it relates to the movie very well only because he give detail about the book and also he says things in there that are very important to the movie. These things he says are very different and they should help you understand the movie a lot better and the movie will come to you if you read these and then watch the movie or vise vs you could just watch the movie and not read the comments that people put on here but i know that these things have helped me understand the movie a lot more than i did when we just watched it in class.
I am with taborr with the march 26th post in saying that mad max isnt all that mad he just seems that way because hes doing the opposite of everyone else in the sense that hes being selfless for good and fighting off evil. showing others compassion and protection not just himself because if he was really mad he would be on the other end of the movies he would be the bad guy hungry for power and killing people for everything that they have just because the world went to nothingness.
