Type one hundred or more words of your personal reaction to the poem and type one hundred or more words about what a site says about the poem and type one hundred or more words about how this poem relates to any other movie, show, book, a poem you’ve seen or read.

My personal reaction to the poem is that it shows like growing men or one man getting older or about one old man and it shows and or says about how the stages of growing up and go by fast and how you should not waste your time because it will go by faster than you know it and you won't be able to go into the past to change things or be able to say more things to a certain person and that you should cherish your time with people because you don't even know when it will be the last time you will get to say or do anything with them.

When I looked up Dylan Thomas “do not go gentle into that good night”’ analysis it came up as one and the persons take on it is saying that it is a son's plea to his dying father and that everyone faces the same und which is death and that they should fight for life. Parts of the poem suggest that death is a part of life and if you learn how to accept it you are wise. Another thing that was said in the poem was “Because their words had forked no lightning” is saying that they want to hold onto life and leave their mark.

When reading this poem and reading what others had to say it kind of reminded me of the book “the road”. The reason that it reminds me of it is that the road is about a boy and his dad going on a journey to find a better place and they had fought through many days of harshness and other elements day or night and learning how to survive off of almost nothing. The father is sick but he is trying not to show his son and I don't think the son completely knows it and he isn't really trying to cherish the time because they are both in a rough patch in their life and then eventually the son sees that the father is dying and he tries to hold on to his dad for as long as he can and the poem relates to that in a certain way.

My first reaction to this poem is that someone is going to comit suicide and leave his family. I also think that he was depressed and didn’t know any other way to solve his situation other than killing himself. I think that there are many problems that the father might have but I think that instead of killing himself he should see if there is anyone or any thing to get him out of a dark place and to find the light so he can be with his family when they all grow up and move out and be there for them when they need you most.

https://blog.prepscholar.com/do-not-go-gentle-into-that-good-night-meaning-dylan-thomas
Basically this poem says it is about the death of his father and how he was alone thought all of his life for the most part. It was hard for him because he had witnessed his father's death in a way that no kid should find their father. It also teaches him that life is short and has to figure out how to face death someday when he is older, He has to step up as the man of the house and take care of everyone in his family.

This reminds me of every cop show because there is always one person or more that will make a bad decision and their family is going to live with that decision for the rest of their lives. The cop shows up and tries to talk them out of it but it doesn’t always turn out that way because they think that there is no other choice on going back so they kill themselves before the cop has a chance to keep the person calm. The cop feels like they have failed in a way because they couldn’t save that person and they have to live with that death but can get help to get over it, I mean some of it.

I think they have a lot of time to think about life but also that the sun is burning them and it makes them angry because they can't do anything about it. The try to stay alive in there old age and it keeps them angry there anger keeps them going every day to live another day. The night might be the time where there skin can take a rest from the burning sun and finally go to sleep but in the dessert you want to sleep during the day and travel during the night then you have a better chance of living.

He was seen as an extension to the 20th century. He started writing poetry at a young age and made it a job. He had a vivid imagination to make up these poems. Some of his poems where related to love affairs that had happened. He was obsessed with word and his job. He wrote most of his poems off of most of his excess and experinsas. He would send letters to another person to look over them. He had about twenty five poems written and published before his untimely demise. Put like every living thing he had to go no one can live forever.

I played a video game where it was a bug trying to help out and anther bug came up and attacked my character. But every time i beat them they ran away. And i started to find out there story apparently there village was destroyed and they were the only ones left alive in it. So they decided to become a grate warrior and take down the people that destroyed there home. But you had to fight them like three time and they keep changing there moves it was hard to dodge them every time we fought. But the game was fun.

My personal reaction from this poem was very confused, I didn't really know how to comprehend this poem in the right way, which could be good, since is there ever one main goal in a poem? I don't think so, this poem allowed me to think and decide what I wanted the meaning to be. When we went through the poem, the only thing that I could think about what him talking about the darkness caving in, no matter how well off you are, because sooner or later the end will come for all of us and it's just a matter of time.
I looked up this wonderful poem and tried to find what other people have said about it. The first thing I saw was mentioned by Mr. C, about 10 syllables in each sentence and after reading about that, it went into why Dylan Thomas made this poem, and I came to find out that he made this poem for his father who has fallen ill, and this poem was supposed to help his father try to fight the illness and proceed to get better.
This poem really relates to “Life of Pi” for me. I look at it as God is the writer of the poem and Pi is the father who has fallen ill, God gave this poem to Pi for motivation to not give up and to keep fighting, because God knew that Pi could get through it. But with “Life of Pi”, Pi makes it threw and perseveres into a new life and has a family of his own where, whereas the writer of “Do not go gentle into that good night”, his father ends up dying in the end sadly.

So my reaction about this poem is that what his poem is saying is that once you go into this good night that you pray it will be a gentle night and will be a range of the good night. Also, this poem tells a good story about how you should go into the night there will be no fear into this night. Then it was saying how you go to sleep you see the range of the light when your eyes are open and you see the range of dark when you are asleep.

There is no author to this site but what they say about this poem is that it conveys a powerful message like when deaths appear then no one needs to know what the meaning of death feels like. They should not have a fear of death.Though in everyday life people can use it for encouragement to keep on living and not be afraid of death. They relate it to as if a family member was ill and they have to face the fear of death if they don’t make it.

type 100+ words about how this poem relates to any other movie, show, book, a poem you've ever seen or read.
This poem is in a movie called Christopher Nolan’s new sci-fi epic interstellar. Well in this movie you don’t just near it three times they say it four different times which gets people thinking that the person who says this is tricking people because this poem is so powerful and has a lot of meaning and strong words that are put in it to stun people. Finally, this has a memorable action to it for people to remember it.

My personal thoughts of this are actually something that shows the fight of humanity in my eyes the fight of good versus evil the nice verses mean, one sees more evil in this world and has taken that view of it and one has seen it as one of good that can come out of it and will try to do good as it's showing the split difference of humanity on for how that one good man can slip into the dark of the night it reminds of the saying "You live long enough to die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." It isn't exactly like that but it's a good quote I use for this as it shows the slip of being the good man to being bad the struggle in someone to fight off the evil within.
https://blog.prepscholar.com/do-not-go-gentle-into-that-good-night-meaning-dylan-thomas
The way they explain it is that it's how they will be going into the light it's all about his father and how he was dying and his last request was a poem from his son and this was it as it's a poem for people deciding how they will face death as it's always gonna come it's quite of a dark thought to think of since he wrote it for his father, it tells about how they decide how they will look death in the eyes and will pass on deciding on for how they will go and for that it's inevitable for us all even if we don't want it to.

I think that this poem has some very powerful words. It is basically talking about how some people feel and how they react to different things. I also think that it is interesting because it is talking about how the light goes away into the night and how people can rage. I think that it is also powerful words because the way they are talking about rage and how people react. It is also talking about how to not go gentle into the good night. I think those words are powerful. It also talks about how old age should burn and rage at close of day.

In the analysis I researched about this poem it said that his purpose is to show his father that all men face the same end, but they fight for life, nonetheless. “Old age should burn and rave at close of day,” (line 2) is almost the thesis for this poem. Thomas classifies men into four different categories to persuade his father to realize that no matter the life choices, consequences, or personalities, there is a reason to live. It is possible that Thomas uses these categories to give his father no excuses, regardless of what he did in life. I think that his analysis is great because he is explaining the poem well.

I am going to relate this to a game I played before. It is related because it talks about how the light goes into darkness in the night and the game has the same theory it goes from daytime to night time. It also show a similarity because it talks about fighting for life and the game that I am related to is kind of a survival game where you have to fight off animals and the weather. It is also related because it talks about consequences and in the game there are consequences too if you don't do some things right. This game is called subsistence it is a survival game.

Dylan Thomas poems my personal reaction about this poem is that I did not know what the poem was talk about i did not know the meaning of this poem. But when I read it the second time I knew what he was talking about he was talking about himself on how he wants to talk about death, He is saying that he doesn't want to die at a young age he wants to live he is an old man and he is saying when he is an old man he would die and the reason I say this is because when he said “Old Age Should Burn”

The website that I have chosen is https://www.poetryfoundation.org this website talking about Dylan thomas past and what he was before an author. They say that dylan thomas was a child prodigy another website I used was https://userpages.umbc.edu this website help a lot cause the website help by decode the word that dylan thomas say like Dylan Thomas uses nighttime as a metaphor for death. They also say that when he writes his poems some reffrest are related to his meaning he is talking about himself and his life.

Dyalan thomas poems is almost reminds me of this one tv show thier a character that he wants to live for the longest but he can't but he found a way so he could be immortal so he could live a long time but there was a price he had to take he would be immortal but all of his friends and everyone he knew would be gone cause they would be age and he would not and the discovery of the year he would make new friends but he would keep losing them and that why i think it the same

My personal reaction to this poem is I think that this is a powerful poem that at the first time of reading it you won’t be able to see how powerful it is until you read it more because then you will begin to see and find smaller details instead of the big ones that the words are portraying. Another reaction that I had to this poem is when you start reading it starts off dark and it stays that way the rest of the poem because it’s only talking about death and grieving but that is what makes it powerful the way that he uses his words to make it seem more dramatic to the readers.

A site that I found said this about the poem “Poetry can break open locked chambers of possibility, restore numbed zones to feeling, recharge desire,” Adrienne Rich wrote in contemplating what poetry does. “Insofar as poetry has a social function it is to awaken sleepers by other means than shock,” Denise Levertov asserted in her piercing statement on poetics. Few poems furnish such a wakeful breaking open of possibility more powerfully than “Do not go gentle into that good night” — a rapturous ode to the unassailable tenacity of the human spirit by the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas

This poem relates to the movie the road because in that movie it’s this adult and his child trying to survive an ending world and they have to use their instincts to survive and they don’t want to die but they have gone through so much death, grieving, sadness, being alone and the father keeps telling the kid that they are not going to die but the father knows that his hope is running out and it is only a matter of time until they can’t go any longer.

Part 1: My personal reaction

I think that this poem is interesting because of what it talks about and what it represents. I think that this poem has great importance to it and I think that this poem has inspiration in it and I think it inspires people. I think that this poem may speak to people and I thought it was well written as well. I like that they used the same amount of syllables for each line of words in the poem. The poem has a lot of meaning to it and the meaning of the poem is important and it has its own value and purpose to it. I like how the poem is written out and I like the words they used for the poem. I like how there are words in the poem like Rage because it gives more meaning to the poem and it describes the poem more and what it is talking about.

Part 2: Site says about poem

https://owlcation.com/humanities/An-analysis-of-Do-Not-Go-Gentle-into-That-Good-Night-by-Dylan-Thomas

On the site it says to choose life and that the poem is a son’s plea to a dying father. In the analysis, it says that his purpose is to show his father that all men face the same end. It is also saying that in the end, everyone fights for life, nonetheless. In the poem, they are saying that Thomas describes wise men in the first group of the poem and then the next group is good men and then the third group they are saying that they have learned too late that they are mortal. In the analysis, they say that the last group is grave men and that the last part of the poem is the intent is presented, Thomas is showing that all men fight for more time.

Part 3: Relate Poem to any other movie, show, or book

I relate this poem to the movie and book called Life Of Pi. I relate the poem to this because in the poem it is a son’s father who died and in the movie and book of Life Of Pi, Pi’s dad dies too and late on Pi graves about his family's death. In the analysis about the poem it says that basically no matter what kind of person you are, you will always fight for more time or more life. In the movie and book, Pi keeps fighting for his life and in the end, he made it safely and he works hard to say alive the whole time when he is on the little lifeboat in the middle of the ocean.

Type 100+ words of your personal reaction to the poem. I don't really understand the poem that much but I think it basically means to let your anger go at night. But my reaction was confused. Like what does this poem truly mean does it have a different meaning then i thought or did I get it right. It also could mean rage at night and some mean party by a rage. But also what does it mean do not go gentle into the night. Why would you not want to go gentle in to the night night is usually the time to settle down and forget about all the stress.

Type 100+ words about what a site says about the poem (include the site link and an author if the site has an author).Thomas wrote "Do not go gentle into that good night" during a very specific moment in Dylan Thomas' life. His father, David John Thomas, had first introduced him to the wonder of language by reading him Shakespeare before bed at night. Thomas' father was a grammar school teacher, but he had always wanted to be a poet but was never able to realize his dream. Some experts suggest that Thomas was inspired to write "Do not go gentle into that good night" because his father was dying (though his father didn't pass away until Christmas of 1952).

Type 100+ words about how this poem relates to any other movie, show, book, poem you've ever seen or read. It kind of remends me of the book and movies we just read the life of pi For a few reasons. One reason because of the island. Because at night the island turned in to a carnivorous island and Idk why but rage at night just reminded me of that for some reason also because during the day it was a normal island filled with food but at night every thing became posinous.

100+ words on my reaction to the poem. My first thought to the poem was about how people are scared of the dark, I read it to myself again and I figured that they were actually talking about death. I think that I am right about the death part of it because people talk about life as light and death as dark. I think when they are talking about the rage part of the poem they are talking about how family members or friends of the dead person are going to be filled with rage. This is my initial reaction to the poem.

Dylan Thomas wrote this poem when his father was dying. He learned about this style of writing because his father would read him, Shakespeare, to him every night before bed. Dylan went around and showed his work off at shows. He also worked and recorded pieces for BBC on the radio. Dylan had a breathing disorder and couldn’t fight in WWll so he married young but that didn’t work very good because he was an alcoholic. This lead to his death when he was on tour and he felt ill and fell into a coma and died few days later.

This poem could relate to anything with death. Such as the lion king when Mufassa died and Simba was full of rage. This could also work for the book and movie life of pi when his family dies. So this poem can go for anything with death.

My opinion about this poem is that is very dark in some way at first I didn’t understand the message because poetry sometimes is really difficult to understand. It talks about how when we are getting older someday our day of die is going to be there and we have to face the death and we need to take it no passive and be strong all the time and we could be panicked but, those are human instincts and that normal and don’t be gentle to the death. We are getting older every day and that day will come and we need to be prepared to face death. It is a pretty good poem that remains that we are not gonna leave forever.

Other options. Many experts' opinions are that the inspiration of Thomas was because his father was dying. His father died in 1952 at Christmas time. Experts say that this poem is one of the most famous poems in the 20h century. He tells the people when they are dying to not take the death easy and be strong all the time and they have the choice of how to confront the death and can struggle but, you can be strong and valiant when that time comes. These poems tell us how we can get better at handling different things in our life.

When I play video games and I am playing gangs other players that are better than me and I get more damage than they do from me I know I am going to die but, I try and never giving up in that and that is what this poem is trying to teach us and someday we will defeat what we are going against. One of those times you can win as I have many times with a lucky shot and you can get the win in that battle. We don’t know when a lucky shot and save you and keep you alive.

My personal reaction to the poem is that it is a good story that explains how hard life and death can be but we have to overcome and get over our sadness or fear and just move on. I also think it talks about how we should not listen to other people's opinions about us and just do what we would like for our future.

The poem "Do not go gentle into that good night", by Dylan Thomas is a son's plea to a dying father. His purpose is to show his father that all men fight for their life. I would say this book is related to "I am Malala" because in the book Malala didn't give up when she wasn't able to go to school because at that time girls weren't allowed to go to school or do activities that boys can do. Malala faced a lot of obstacles in her life to make her change her beliefs about how girls and boys have the same right but she chose to fight and even sacrifice herself to change other people's believe about girls. She was shot in a school bus on her way home and almost died.

My reaction to this part was that it shows like growing men or one man getting older and then an older man. I personally think it shows the stages of getting older and how fast it happens. To never waste time on things that aren’t important because you can always be focusing on something that is important and never misses the special things with your family because you can not go back and change that and you may not realize it now but you will realize it later. You never know when the last time you will get to talk to that person or see them so always say I love you and always take care of them.

It talks more about how you should not fear death because it happens to everyone, do not sit there and worrying about when that day will come for that one person instead value the time well your with them and don’t take that for granted. Always choose life and to live your life do not just sit there all the time saying “ I'm bored”. And fight for your life and try to stay wise to your surroundings because they deserve it and this poem showed me that you will regret it later on if you don’t. The poem I choose was “ Do not go gentle into that good night”

When I read this poem it definitely reminded me about the time I got really mad at my mom and later that night she ended up getting in a car accident and when I got that call I was so upset and I could never forgive myself. She ended up living but I was constantly telling her I was sorry when she woke up and every now and then I think about what If that would have been my goodbye what if I never got the chance to say I'm sorry and that her own daughter loves her? I personally think you should never take time for granted.
