Karl's Parents
Invent a story Karl's parents made up and said was "from the Bible" (to make Karl believe and obey). Include 500+ words.
Thanks to Mr. Massmann for the great idea.

I believe that his parents told Karl that they are the bosses of the house. There is no entry to the house unless we say you can come in. The child of the house is to be sleeping in a shed with no blankets, no bet, no pillow, and food from time to time and no way out unless we let you out. If you are to disobey the rules from the bible you will be punished by being hit, slapped, or any way of punishment that the grown-ups choose to place upon the child. The liquid that is consumed of the father is healthy and keeps him in faith with a daze of no remembrance. some too much and he will fall asleep. The mother is to bring out the child's food and quite possibly bring him some other clothing or any other needs. the father is to be stern at all times toward the youngin of the house. no bathing, showering, teeth cleaning, comb for your hair no shaving or cutting of hair unless the parent says so.
The liquid is meaning alcohol that the father drank when. It also means that when he is drunk any little thing will mean for carl to get harmed for disobeying him and his mother. The other thing of no entry was saying that those are the rules of not going in the house and them to maby possibly trying to kill Karl out in that shed with little food, dehydration, and possibly even freezing to death.

His father was a horrible person, he told him all kinds of false stories. One of them was rather horrible. Karl was set out in the shed just laying in his hole. He was waiting for his daily "bible lesson". He was going to learn something far less righteous. He heard screaming and yelling for several hours one night and was told to stay in the shed. His father came outside and handed him a towel and told him to throw it out. When he looked inside and found a living, breathing baby child just born a little too early. Karl would not allow this young one to die, it didn't seem right. He went to his father and asked him why he wanted him to kill his little brother. His father replied saying that the lord willed him to do so. Karl said he didn't understand. His father explained, there was a story in the Bible about this. The lord has commandments he says. You do what they say or you face the lord. Those who don't obey the lords wishes go to hades, he says. Karl couldn't read, he had no clue what his father was saying wasn't true. He went outside and put the baby in a box, and buried him under a rock carved faithfully to honor the lords wishes. He would not know of his evil until many years later. Karl heard a racket a few weeks later, and he knew that when a man was forcing himself upon a woman that it was not to be ignored. He saw Dixon on his mother having his way with her. He grew enormously angry, his eyes were blood rood and he saw nothing but rage. He was not going to led someone hurt his mother. He had been taught that he should listen and keep to himself but when someone harmed his mother he lost control. He didn't know at the moment yet that his mother was not being forced to do anything but that would put him into an even bigger rage. He was told by his mother in the past that the lord wills them to tell him to stay in the shed and to bury his little brother. Now he feels a voice, a conscious decision that was clearly not his but buried within him. He thought he knew what the lord was telling him, Dixon needed to pay. He grabbed a sling blade, his swung it fast and hard up at Dixon. He almost cut his head clean off. His mother started yelling and it dawned on him. This was not what he thought it was, this was worse. This was intentional sin on his mothers part. He knew enough to know that adultery was a sin, immoral, wrong. He grew angry once more and slashed. He killed his mother. He sat down, he ate some biscuits his mother had cooked for Dixon. He put mustard on them, and he sat and waited for his father to get home. When his father arrived home he had a bigger hole in his stomach than than the one he usually got when he was hungry. He had his world ripped apart by his only son and discovered his wife was not loyal. He lashed out and beat on Karl. Karl allowed this to happen because if you do something bad you are punished for it, as it says in the Bible according to his mother and father. The cops soon arrive and before he leaves his father tells him the reason God wanted him to stay in the barn was because he was not a child of God, he was no child of his. He was the child of the Devil.
One of the stories that Karl's parents made up was that he was supposed to stay out in the shed and to never bother his parents. He was to never go and ask his mom and dad for anything. His dad says that's what kids are good at is to be left alone and to not be able to be nourished and fed like the elders can be. And he also talks about doing stuff for the weak. For example, he should know how to do stuff on his own and be able to figure out life on his own and that he doesn't need his parents for support. There are such sayings like "there's an app that tells me if you really brushed your teeth or not." Some other examples are "When the ice cream truck's music is on, it means, that they are all out of ice cream." One last example is "I told my kids that the star symbol on my phone was actually a snowflake and it was a direct line to Santa if they were naughty." But such examples like these are lies that parents tell their kids so that they might think something good could be coming if they listen good or do good things, but then if they do the parents don't do anything about it. - Hood pd. 4
One of the stories that Karl's parents told him was about that all kids need to listen to their parents no matter what. It starts off with the family of Noah and Cushite. Then they have a kid who would do whatever they told him. He would go out and take care of the yard and the house. The kid would also wash the dishes and even keep the fire going to heat the house. He went on for a good part of his life doing this. Then one day when he was around 15 years old, his mom asked him if he could take out the trash. He started to get up but then something about him said no and he sat back down. The mom not thinking anything of it just took it out then. Later on that day the boy's dad was outside building a very large raft. He went outside and his dad was inside the raft starting to finish the final touches to the inside. The dad came out and started talking to his son as he was doing some of the finishing touches. He asked his son if he could grab him a paintbrush from the other side of the ship. The boy was just about to leave when he got the same urge as before and said no he would not go grab the paintbrush. Unlike the mother, the father got upset when his son said that to him. So Noah stood up and asked his son again to go grab the paintbrush. When the kid said no again this time he started to get a little agitated. So the father asked him, why are you saying no to me. The kid responded saying his mother didn't care if he said no to her. This enraged the father. So he started walking towards his house to talk to his wife. When he got out of the ship dark clouds started coming in from the distance and he didn't notice them. The boy at this time was walking behind his dad. when they got into the house they heard a loud bang. The two rushed to the front door where the mother was staring out of it looking at the tree across the street that was hit by lighting. It was only just starting to rain at this time and most of the sky was dark already. The father knowing what was about to happen grabbed only a few things and his wife and kid and ran to the boat. He was at a lost for words when they finally got the door shut on the boat. The only thing he could barely get out was, "they warned me it would be someone close to me to cause the cleansing of the earth". But when he finally caught his breath and the ship was raised off the ground by flooding water, He said he was warned about this cleansing coming and they said it would be caused by a unbalance in something in society. He didn't realize it would be because of his son disrespecting him. So they went around sailing for weeks until the father and the boy bumped into each other and the son said something to him. The father started saying all he wanted was for his son to respect him and have him help him when he asked. They talked and while they were talking they didn't notice that the water started going down. They had no idea about it until Cushite rushed into the room and said she could see tops of trees. The boy and his father rushed to the top of the ship and could see the trees. The boy said he never wanted the cleansing to happen again and he vowed to god that he would always listen to his father no matter what because he didn't want to have everything wiped out again.
Karl's parents told him stories from the bible that were completely made up. They told him stories that if he didn't live in a shed that he wouldn't be normal and every kid lives in a shed and if he didn't god would send him to hades and that he had to do the unnecessary work for his parents like bury his little brother.the other stories they told him is to stay in the shed unless spoken to because that's what god would want of a good child is to stay out of their parents life and live by yourself in an old shed. His father told him he was just passing by to make it seem like all he had for his child was a shed and a few mustard biscuits which is barley anything to pass on by with.his parents told him that it didn't matter if went to school or not because he had his bible studies so he went on skipping school every week because he wasn't treated well there and he had his bible studies so he believed his whole life that he didn't need to go to school but he had to do the grunt work of his parents to have a harder work life and not to help him but to help themselves noah h
Bible stories that Karl's parents made up. To start off they made up a rule that said kids sleep in barns and use dirt pits for beds also i think they made up a story were kids do all the work and the parents do nothing but watch the kids struggle doing their jobs. Another stories I think they made up was that kids don't talk to their parents and they do whatever the parents say without thinking about the consequences that why carl almost throughout his baby brother but he hesitated and tried to do the right thing. The next story ithink they made up was that if a kid is not born right then it is not worth keeping that why they got rid of the baby brother but if they got rid of it because he was not born right then why did they keep Karl was he born right but then why did it seem like his parents didn't want him around. The next story i think they made up is that if the child is taken away then the parents disown the kid that is what happen to karl he was taken away because of what he did to his mother and the neighbors kid so they had to send him away and at that point i think that is were Karl dad disowned him and said he had no boy because he killed the only person he really did love so after that he was broken and he became depressed and didn't do anything which is why the house was a mess and why it was falling apart which shows that he didn't care about what was happening to the house which is why it was falling apart. Another story that i think was made up was that kids do all the studying or learning themselves because Karl seems that he has trouble learning or adapting to things that happen in his life so i think his parents told him that he has to do all his lessons or learning by himself. So in conclusion those are the stories that i think the parents made up to deal with carl because they did not like him so they did not want any thing to do with him so they made up the stories so they could have very little to do with Karl and it makes me feel bad because you should never do that to a kid.
only speak when your spoken to and if you don't you will be frowned upon. if you kill someone it is not bad and everything will be alright. and you don't need to listen and not speak. when I grew up my grandmother was like that and it was very strict and there where lost of rules. she was like I know more than you and what I have to tell you is right then my grandmother and grappa got divorced and then my grandmother got less strict and started to clam down a little bit and now she is really good about it because when they were still together my grandpa push me down the stairs at my grandmothers house. that was bad because I still have lots of memory's from it
I believe that the parents told Karl that there the bosses of the household. Karl parents told him he can’t enter the house unless they say you can. Karls curl parents make Karl think children were supposed to stay in a shed with no blankets, no pillows, and no bed to sleep on and food to give to the child unless you allowed leaving the shed. The bible said If you were to disobey your parents you were punished by being hit, slapped and etc by the parents choice to upon of their child. The child's father liquid that was consumed by the father was healthy and keeps him in the faith of his religion and with a daze of no remembrance or a lot and they would fall asleep. They said the mother was supposed to bring the child food and bring him clothing or other needs. The father of the house is supposed stern and straight forward at all times towards the younger children of the house. No bathing, showering etc unless the parents say you're allowed too.
The liquid the father drinks is meaning alcohol that the father drinks. It also means whenever the father is drunk at any time any little things can happen to karl.it also means Karl can get harmed whenever for disobeying his father and his mother. Also, them saying he can’t enter the house unless they said Karl can. It gives Karl a higher chance for his parents to kill them by not feeding him or from a dehydration or heat stroke or from freezing the death or hyperthermia.
I believe the story Karl parents made up that a child has to obey the parent no matter what happens and what they say to you. Like when a kid is born some are spoiled and some are just not spoiled. The spoiled kids get whatever they want even without waiting for it like most kids have to wait until Christmas or a random holiday. Spoiled kids don’t know how to work for it they just assume they get it. Kids that aren't spoiled have to wait and learn how to do more chores through the household and learn there keep and right to earn it. Like Karl some parents treat their children decent and some don't. The parents choose how you live your childhood and where you stay at during the night and what toys they can play with. Karl lived in a shed with a hole to sleep in. In my opinion that is not right whatsoever. Karl was traped with tools and a lawn mower just sitting out there in the shed. He had no experience how to grow up like everyone else. No friends to play with just people that are disrespectful and being rude and a bully to him. He never got to go to the movies, bowling or to the mall with his family and friends. He also never got to go to school to learn the basics like math, English, science, history. I think his parents made up a lot of stories from the bible that they read to him a certain amount of days. Least his mom was nicer to him unlike his father and the other people he saw but no as nice. Also how much he eats a day like now it is usually breakfast, lunch and supper. Karl was lucky he gotta eat biscuits three days a week from where he lives. Lastly I think his parents make up fake stories to put in Karls head. Which is not right and letting believe in stories that aren't true. Karl has a good heart and good intentions but shows it in the wrong ways. I loved watching the movie I think you should keep showing it to other students because it tells you a lot and very interesting to watch and obstacles people have to face. It also shows how people can care about you and help finding a job and a place to stay at during tonight to sleep and have a nice comfortable shelter. It's also cool that a girl likes Karl and bring him a flower to work because they were on sale and has a good heart and good intentions.

Keisha Felcher. A story that Karl’s parents might of made up is maybe saying that what they do to him is for the bible. They torture him because they follow the bible. They keep him outside because that’s what their beliefs are. Or they do that because they’ve read it in the bible and they are following the bible rule by rule. Or some of the phrases or meanings in the bible could say something but they misunderstood what it really meant and they just do it the wrong way. You can only speak when someone talked to you. No talking back or you will get punished. Don’t try to prove a point you could get into trouble.

Karl growing up was read the bible a lot from his mother, he would wait for her to come out to his shed to read him from the bible. Once karl was put in the asylum he read a lot and one thing he read was the bible even though he didn't know how to read he definitely tried to put the words together and make out with them. When he was younger his mother had read him a section out of the bible that said “ As a young child you shall not talk back to your mother and father or thall should be fowl consequences for your action”. I have not read the bible so i do not Know whether that behold the truth or whether it is false information. Another expert from the bible that was read to karl” If ones action behold faulty they shall not live with hope or expect anything from their parents”. I also feel as if this excerpt is very faulty in may ways that it does not behold the truth one bit. “ All children grow up in a shed and don't live inside with there they are treated as savages and don't have a soul towards any humanly actions”. I feel like his mother told him this one because he didn't want him to be get hurt by her or his father if he were to leave his shed. I am sure there are many falsely experts that his mother and father taught him as a young child that he lived by and cherished because as a child that is all he knew and that's only real thing that karl was able to hold accountable from the real world. Once he grew up and was in the asylum He was able to spend his time reading and analyzing the bible for it whole and took word by word because all he had on his hands was time and nothing else so he could put his time towards the truth and only the truth
I believe that one of the stories Karl's parents had told him that was in the Bible was that if you are different you are not allowed in the house. The reason I believe they would have told Karl this is because Karl never really complained to his parents as a kid because he had to stay out in the shed all day and all night. At the same time, Karl probably knew it was wrong because the days he went to school as a young boy and everything he probably heard all the other young boys and girls talking about how it was back at home every once in a while. Karls parents had probably told him and fed him with all these lies about how he was treated was right because he was different and that is terrible of his parents to do. What are parents for? Parents are to nurture their children and love and care for them as they grow up and teach them the ways of life. It was very hard for Karl out in the real world once he got out of the institution also because of all the lies he had been told as a kid. He was told that killing his little brother was the right thing to do and that was not what it was at all. Karl comprehended that later on in the film as you can tell he told his father that when he made him kill his brother it was not right at all and he goes on to say how that young boy could have had some fun in his life but they prevented that. They also could have prevented him from going to the institution if they taught him that killing was bad instead of forcing him to do it. By doing that it more than likely made Karl think killing was okay and that may have been why he killed his mother and the neighborhood kid. At the end of the film even though Karl knew murder was wrong he killed Doyle because even though he knew it was wrong in many ways. I believe the reason he killed Doyle at the end of the film was that he knew it would make Frank and Linda's lives a whole lot easier and he would be doing them a massive favor. Another reason he killed Doyle was that after all the lies and BS his parents fed him as a kid it made the real world for him very hard to manage and he thought that he better go back to the institution and he needed to do something bad for that. His ending choice was to kill Doyle and in my opinion, the reason he did that was that he had thought it needed to be done and he loved Frank and Linda and wanted to end their suffering and have them live a happy life and he had thought it was the most justifiable illegal thing that he could do to get sent back to the institution. Karls parents treated like total horse crap. They didn't care about what he was gonna be. They didn't care whether he lived or died. They made up all these stories about how God wants this, or God wants that, but never ever the actual truth. They made him bury his own baby brother alive because they didn't want it, why didn't they do that to Karl? Because they obviously don't want him either. "We are the bosses of the house" . "if you don't sleep in this shed you'll go to hell" "If you don't listen to us you'll go to hell" what kind of parents do that? why are they so horrible? -zoie hite

Thats why his parents told Karl that they are the bosses of the house.
-zoie hite
