The algae island is a symbol of a particularly shallow brand of spirituality. The face of the island it appears to be a kinda demi-paradise, in reality, the island is a carnivorous island, it’s a place that feeds on the skin of various animals and also human beings.in that case, the island symbolizes the kind of a spiritual path that all too many would pilgrims would follow. The island is dangerous and pi knows it he figures there's is something weird about the island because he Richard Parker goes back to the raft and the lemurs also slept in the trees. What I figured out is the Algae island resembled for the garden of Eden. Pi found this island at the brink of death. This is his second chance of survival has he found good to eat and also fresh water. He also has companionship with the lemurs and Richard Parker etc. the island is some sort of paradise that he can really come to his own and be himself. While he is on the island he experiences real sleep and body and mental nourishment. While Pi was in the trees he finds a flower and starts to pull down the flower and unravel it. He finds a tooth, he is enacting the tree of knowledge and the apple with Adam And Eve. Once he unravels the flower and sees the tooth of a human. He realized and gains the understanding and knowledge that will die at the island and be like the owner of the tooth he found and not be able to live and tell his story about he experience being on a raft in the middle of the ocean. True yes, Pi could've stayed at the island, he could of eat drink, and spent time with the lemurs and Richard Parker all day. But in my option is that the definition of life is that what the rest of Pi’s life should be what Pi had to do was make the decision to leave and risk his life to be able to tell his story.

there was an island and there was lots of stuff on the island mirror cats and in the day there was good water in the pound and at night it was acid and the creatures would die if they went in it. The island is kind of that of meaning. It's meaning for like maybe hope and friendship. It could symbolize that Pi and Richard Parker need to make friends and help each other on the journey so that they can both make it. On the island, it's all meerkats who are all in peace with each other. They have no fault, or violence, they simply get along in life going with each other in a state of bliss and always getting along. I think also that coming to the island Pi might maybe realize that he and the tiger are not all that different. They are both cold-blooded killers only trying to survive and get by on this journey through the ocean.

What i know about that island. To start off i know that it is in the middle of the pacific ocean but know one knows about it also it is made up entirely of plants that you can eat is a home to thousands of mirriorkats and has pools of fresh water for drinking. Some weird things about the island it is shaped like a person and is actually a carnivorous plant in the middle of a ocean which is why only a few people know about the island and during the night the water turns in to acid and that ends up killing all the fish in those pools which i think is another reason why only the mirror cats live there because they know what the island does at night but i have to wonder does the island eat the mirror kats or does it only eat the fish that end up in the pools that turn into acid i would think that it would only eat the fish and leave the mirror kats alone because i think that it needs it to survive or live. Why i think that really no one notices the island is because it is kind of small and also in the middle of know were which means that ships really don't see it as they sale the ocean but you have to wonder how did the mirror kats get there how long has the island been there why does it eat the fish what is the island really made of why did the mirror kats not eat the whole island a long time ago why does it eat humans and also how does it eat them. So in conclusion that what i think about the island and the questions that i have about it like why there so many mirror kats and how come no one else knows about it or has seen it.

What I think about the island? I think an island is a magical place for someone like Pi that was stranded on a boat with a tiger which is named Richard Parker. The meerkats provided convert for Pi and food for the tiger. I think it seemed magical because of all the colors it showed under the water which glowed the whole place up during the night. Then Pi found a wisdom tooth that could of mean that another person was in the exact same situation he was in. Maybe not with an animal like a tiger but just himself. My guess he gave up and couldn't take much longer and couldn’t be trapped and stranded anymore. Pi was the only person to experience that so the story could be told. When Pi and the tiger were sleeping the water carried the lifeboat to that magical place. All you could see was meerkats everywhere throughout the island. The movie also showed us the shape of the island which looked like a dead body also glowed green that looked like corals surrounding it. When Pi was in the hospital the reporters didn't believe the island exist with a bunch of meerkats spread throughout the island. I also think the island symbolizes life to keep moving on and make it. There a lot to do in life yet and experience for motivation to keep moving on. Lastly, maybe another time when the time comes that another person will experience it like Pi did and tell the amazing stories about it and maybe and may not be similar to Pi story. It was an island of wisdom and a place that is really magical that you wouldn't forget about as long you were still breathing and alive. If I was in the situation I know that I'll probably give up the first week or not even because I would have no clue what to do in the situation and I'll be completely lost. If I found that island along the road I would have stayed and gathered up a lot of food and supplies until I'll get rescued or just stay there in the magical place until I finally give up.

I look at the island as being like some sort of trap or like what we talked about a venus fly trap how it lures its prey in. The whole island is green. The only thing that's living on the island is the meerkats. It looks like the island is made out of tree branches bundled together. It looks like a bunch of algae surrounding and packed together on the branches. Throughout the island, there are water holes. You can see through the water hole pretty far down. In the movie, it zooms out to show the whole island, and it's shaped like a human body laying down. At night, the water turns into acid and the branches get hot. It's like a mythological place that doesn't seem or look real.

the island of a mythical creature with reports of it being seen on a back of a whale or just floating with animals below it is truly amazing and it is a head stomper. An island is a magical place inland of the exterior where it has food for both pie and Richard Parker. This island seemed to only have food that pie would eat such as the roots of the floating trees and then the thousands of little mirror cats that somehow came upon the island. The thing is that there were only mirror cats on that island, no other animals were there which was very interesting. Then the mystery of the island that no one has ever seen is that the water turns to acid and kills anything in the water or on the floor of the island. This is why all of the mirror cats went to the trees and Richard Parker went back to the boat. I do not think this was an actual event of when he was out at sea but just a maraj that he made up in his head after being so out of his mind for so long with no food or water.

I think the island was to show him how life easy could be and was easy for him. It showed him that someone is still watching out for him and wanted him to live. Because there were thousands of meerkats on the island and Pie could eat the island. He could actually eat in his own bed by pulling out some of the walls. It was also a paradise for Richard Parker also. Because there were enough meerkats on the island he could eat for years and years. They both had clean water during the day to drink and to rinse off in. I believe that the island was heaven during the day. But when night came it turned into hell. The reason I think that is because it would turn the water sour and acidity it would attract fish and kill them. It would dissolve the animals in a night to provide for all the plants on the island. But it was glowing and it showed him to the plant that grew around the tooth and showed Pi the tooth and made him realize someone has been here and the island killed him. So Pi gathered what he needed and left to search for an island or a beach. That's why I think the island was a graveyard for hell because everything there would be dissolved before it was even noticed.

What I think about the island is that it's a magical place that was very convenient for pi and the tiger because pi is only vegetation and the tiger only eats meat so it was good for both of them because the storm took most of the food for pi and the tiger so this was good that they found this place. The tiger could eat the mirror cats and pi could eat the plants and he was lucky that they had fresh water their so pi could drink it but only at night so this island I think is magical because it had everything that the food and water. it's weird at night the water you can't drink because it turns acid at night and I really don't know why that is. The mirror cats keep pi warm during the night because they just cover him like a blanket. I wonder if the island is only is the sign from God since he realizes saying you are going to survive because been preying ever night. I am wondering how there is fresh water in that island because the hole where the water I would think leads to the ocean from underneath and the ocean is salt water so I don't know how that would be fresh or maybe there was a hole and all the rain that was their filled the water up but I don't how it acid during the night. The island might be magical because at night the whole island light up and it seems magical with the green and blue lights surrounding the island it seems like the island isn't real. I wouldn't doubt when pi left the island and if he tried going back for the island it wouldn't be there because it was probably just sign from god here's some food now that your gone the island disapears

I think this island is a mix of hell and heaven it shows you the bad that happens to you when hell comes around and now that he found out it was hell he left and left with the heaven when he could he took as much food water and food for Richard Parker I think this is a meaning for life don't try and get close to hell but take as much heaven you can take with you as possible and don't take anything negative but I think this couldn't happen but this island is a trap for people and try to make them think that they can have hell in their life and you can tell in this film that the other person that thought they can live life there but it made him die and be forgotten about on that island

The Island represents a lot of things and many ideas. It represents parts of society and parts of ourselves. It looks like a person laying down. It could be saying a lot of things but I couldn't possibly describe what. Pi finds a tooth on that Island wrapped in a flower. It had eaten someone before. Seclusion from family, friends, and people can be a self destructive task or a healthy vacation. It goes both ways as does the island. The island takes during the night what it gives during the day and you can only last so long living like that. I hope everyone finds the strength in themselves to feel as big as chief and as enduring as Pi. I wouldn't want anyone to end up like the man who died on the island not of natural causes or an accident, but of loneliness. People need friends and we would do anything to stay alive should we have some depending on us. Pi was right, had he not had Richard Parker he would have lost the will to live and gave up a long time ago. The island is Pi's subconscious wanting to stay out in the ocean, caring for Richard Parker (himself). The reason I think it is his imagination, even in the movie when he explains that it was real is because it comes seemingly out of nowhere, like a thought. When he leaves he is loaded with food and water and the island disappears suddenly like a lost train of thought. When he reaches the shore Richard Parker and him are both emaciated and starving but there are no islands like the one he described within a week's worth time from the shore suggesting that he never had food or fresh water and that the island is fake. The real world sustains us, thoughts and feelings may not. Those thoughts and feelings are what push us to keep going, though.

The island is one that most likely doesn't actually exist in nature. The island is made entirely of edible vegetation that Pi could eat without having to feel guilty because Pi is a vegetarian by choice, but a carnivore by desperation. The island also is covered with meerkats for Richard Parker to eat when he gets hungry too. Richard Parker had plenty of meerkats to eat and it was easy for him because the meerkats didn't even try to run away. Pi was happy to be on the island during the day but when night came he knew the truth. The island would turn toxic in the cold of night and be unfit for life on. Pi left the island because he knew it would be better to die trying to get off than to live on that island. Pi has this realization when a tooth wrapped in leaves fell on him while he was trying to sleep and it was a human tooth. When this happened Pi realized that staying on the island was probably not a good idea because that tooth could be him one day.

Keisha Felcher. The island is shaped like a person. Which to me I think that has meaning to it. The island also helps Pi and Richard Parker to survive there with all the plants and everything. To me, I also think that the island was meant to keep Pi and Richard Parker alive because that was its purpose in life. I also think that the ocean leads them to the island on purpose. As if it was their destiny to go there.

Valdez- I believe the island has a meaning of life and death. Life of how during the day when its bright and sunny the water is fresh and the fruits are edible but by night when the island is swallowed by darkness the water turns into poison and the fruit turns bad. the island glows with death that is attractive. The animals on the island have to sleep in trees because the ground will burn their feet from the poison. I believe that this island was apart of his imagination but also a realization of hope and life. He found through the island that he needs to get back home he cannot stay. The food he was gathering was his mind and the water he saved was the will power that drove him to get back home. I think his mind tricked him into believing that he was at the island when there is really no such thing and he thinks it was the island that saved him but it was really his own will power and his promise to Richard Parker.

The algae island in the movie Life of Pi is very symbolic. There are some things that it symbolizes more than others but in my opinion, the thing that it mostly represents is hope for Pi. Some people may disagree with this statement because there are many other things that it so obviously represents but I put some thought into it and this is what I think about the island. I believe to Pi that the island that he came upon was a big sign of hope and to keep on keepin' on. Pi more than likely saw this island as a reason to keep on going and make it safe at last on his journey back to his homeland. On the island, he was well kept by the animals who gave him shelter and a "blanket" so he would be well protected and safe at night. So when he awoke he was probably uplifted by the events that had just occurred in his life and the good nights sleep he had on the island probably gave him more energy than sleeping on the boat or on the little raft he had made himself because it was calm and he wasn't bouncing around being awoken by the waves of the ocean when he was on the island. Who knows how differently his journey back home would have been if he had not stumbled upon this random island? Who knows how drastically that island changed Pi? If he had not stumbled upon that island would he have even made it home safe at last? This island is a very significant part of the movie and maybe even something that had saved Pi's life in the film.

There is this island that eats everything at night and the only time you can be on it without being eaten by the island is during the day. At night there are pools of water that release a special chemical in the water and it is kinda like an acid it kills the fish and other things within its surroundings. Showing PI that he needs to leave and he can’t give up so soon the island provided him with food and a little bit of shelter it had food for richard parker and animals to comfort him at night and during the day when he was among his loneliness. The island was also in the shape of a human that could represent that a dead person which could mean if he were to stay there and wait for help to come save him he would die to just like the dude before him.
