Riley Schroeder By started to think he heard the tiger talking then he started to ask it some questions like have you ever killed a person. The start to talk about food some of them where vegetable foods the tiger just wanted to keep talking about meat foods which if there is no tiger then pi did cannibalism if there was then he did a little bit of cannibalism so they kept talking about food for a long time then some other boat appears. Then pi starts to talk to the other person and tells him a story. The story was there is a banana tree and a banana fell from that tree. Then the guy responded with oooo that is a nice story. Then pi told another story. The banana on the ground got picked up by a person and that person at the banana. The guy offered pi a shoe to eat if the guy could have the cigarettes to smoke. But pi ate the cigarettes and the guy ate the shoe. And they decide to row to each other to talk but the other guy had other plans. It took them a while but when the hit each other pi held his hands out and said come to me brother wanting a hug. But instedt the guy stated to choke pi and when the man got to a spot the tiger came out and shredded his skin off. So pi when to the other life boat and looted it and found out that the guy had rashinons and other stuff to live. But he had no one to talk to agian all he had was the tiger and even then the tiger is not mutch of a good talker. But when they did they only talked about food. But before all that happened pi thought he was going to die and accepted it and was ready to meat his family in what ever after life he believed in.
Webb, Parker "The need for a monster. Any Regrets?" This line to me is something that caught my eye as I was reading this I believed it was PI struggling with himself the animal Richard parker was taking over him and this chapter is hard to explain without going over the mind, it's very tricky as it can play tricks on people and cause you to hear to see things you don't want to see it causes quite a bit of strain on yourself and after how long it's been since pi heard another voice I'm sure that his head was making it up and this is how his mind was coping with it and he caught the animals himself and used parts of people and flesh to survive to do anything means necessary for Pi to live which is why I think Richard Parker is just Pi's instinctual side taking over. "You're damn right your heart is with me!" He said. "And your liver and your flesh!" This lets you know what type of mood the end of the chapter brings and I think it's when Pi resolved to cannibalism and starting to feast on a corpse that was in his boat he never killed someone except the cook perhaps or whoever made it on the boat with him but could've hacked up his body and used it for food/bait taking into such a side he never thought he had something he was he never would've done I think deep down this is Pi Patel trying to get rid of his thoughts and more solidifies for me that he ate someone his brain snapped and he started eating him or Richard Parker did licking up his blood and eating them for survival a dark time he takes off that the tiger did to comfort himself later down the road as most of our brains do that to block it out.
What's really going on in chapter 90? Write 300+ of your own words along with include at least two direct quotes from the novel. So I think what's going on is hallucinations because his brain is having trouble functioning to now what is going on I believe he is talking to the butcher or to himself. Because after their boats connect they both think that is what's going on. Or Pi is just Imagining someones their when their is really no one.So in the book it says it's astonishing what you hear when you're alone in the blackness of your dying mind. A sound without shape or colour sounds strange. To be blind is to hear otherwise. So I think it means he is blind he has not eaten enough food to use his eyes so that sound could just be voices in his head or someone is really there. Also in the book this event happened and it said. I tried to hold him back. Alas, it was too late. Before I could say the word alone, I was alone again. I heard the merest clicking of claws against the bottom of the boat, no more than the sound of a pair of spectacles falling to the floor, and the next moment my dear brother shrieked in my face like I've never heard a man shriek before. He let go of me. This was the terrible cost of Richard Parker. He gave me a life, my own, but at the expense of taking one. He ripped the flesh off the man's frame and cracked his bones. The smell of blood filled my nose. Something in me died then that has never come back to life. So I think it means that Pi either is hallucinating and think the tiger saved him but really richard parker is his survival side. Where he will do what ever it takes to save himself I belive he killed the man but he is hallucinating that richard parker was his savior. This chapter was very interesting and makes you Imagine if this was true except it couldn't be because it says he is talking to richard parker in it and richard parker is a tiger and tigers don't talk. So its hard to say if this was the butcher he was talking to and killed or if this was all imagination or hallucination.
In this chapter, Pi starts talking about how he is losing his sight as the days go on and he starts to hallucinate. Pi tells us that both him and “Richard Parker” are losing their eyesight and how it is becoming very difficult to find the good out of living, especially when he has very little water and no food. The next thing that happens is when Pi starts talking to a person, at first Pi thinks that it is a faint voice, since he was dying, was hearing out of nowhere, and later thought that it was “Richard Parker” who was talking to him since the voice said that he had killed a man and a woman. But soon after Pi had realized it was a man, because Richard Parker is not real and Pi hearing the voice gave him hope, The problem at the time was that Pi was blind and he did not know that the man was lying to him about being blind, the french man was able to see clearly and had food on his raft but wanted more, so he lied to Pi and told him that he was too blind and had no food at all. This gave the french man hope that he could easily jump onto Pi’s boat and kill Pi since he could not see anything, but he thought very wrong. When they finally got the two boats close enough where they could tie them together, the man jumped onto Pi’s boat and started to strangle the life out of Pi, and that's when Pi grabbed his hatchet and killed the french man. After this happened in the chapter, it pretty much ends and goes onto to say that Pi used the man's body to gain his vision back and used it as bait for fish so he would not get sick from eating the man's corpse.
What do I think is going on in chapter 90? Well, Pi and Richard Parker lost their vision because of lack of food and nutrition so they are now blind. Pi is very desperate for food so he can get his vision back because it is crucial to have a vision in the middle of the ocean. Then a man from the same shipwreck shows up and they began yelling at each other. The guy he runs into also says that he is blind because of the same reason. The guy asks Pi if he has any food and Pi said he doesn’t and asked if the man has any food. The man says “ Do you have any food”, Pi says no I had cigarettes but I ate them, I still have the filters if you want those. The man says the only food I have is a “Fine leather boot”. What!! Why would you eat a boot? I think that the man is referencing the boot to Pi, It turns out that the man was not blind at all he just said he was so he could get a better shot at Pi and he says that the boot will taste good and he begins describing the boot in weird ways. The man then tries to get to Pi so he could eat him because he was so hungry. The man attacks Pi and “Richard Parker” attacks the guy and tears him apart. Then it says Pi used parts of the man as fishing bait so he could get his vision back. So hears what I think, I think that Pi is Richard Parker and he kills the man with his hatchet and eats the man and gains his vision back. So I think that there was never a tiger on the boat it just lives inside Pi.

So what I think is going on in chapter 90 is that both Richard parker and pi start to go blind in that chapter and pi throws a dorado at him and smacks the tiger in the face. Then what happened is pi goes blind and he suffers from heat and hunger and can barely clinging on to life. Then he thinks he fails to be a zookeeper and he can no longer care for Richard parker because he is too weak and has no energy to keep himself alive and to keep the tiger alive. Pi feels death approaching and he bids a vocal farewell to Richard parker he keeps on hearing the voice answer him. Then pi begins a conversation with the voice talking about what they want to eat because they are starving and running on nothing. Along with them naming off food pi longs for vegetable dishes the voice-only talks about meat, beef, and brains. Next, he assumes he is hearing Richard parker’s voice again. Then they start talking about if pi has ever killed a man and the voice said I have killed a man and women. Pi realizes that he has an accent which makes him confused because Richard parker is an Indian tiger. Then the pie shouts out his own name and the man answers someone new. He meets the man and he said he doesn’t have food either and he reveals that he is blind to. Then they both started weeping and pi offers to tell the man a story but then the man says he had no use for it. The story was about how the banana was falling to the ground from the tree making someone feel better. “Pi said Richard Parker, is something wrong? Have you gone blind”? Then he said, “ I was hoping there would be someone else there” Bruce

In chapter 90 the events going on in the chapter are weird and don't really make sense. In the chapter, he is on the boat and sometimes the tiger is on the boat and sometimes it is not. In chapter 90 he also hears a voice and he is not sure if he is going crazy or what. He and the voices are talking about food and Pi talks about all the vegetarian stuff he wishes he could eat and then the other voice is talking about how they wish that they could eat all of this meat and raw meat and Pi is getting disgusted and he gets mad. He also thinks is now going to die and he says goodbye to the tiger and he says to his brother and his mom and his dad that he is coming now and he said he loves God and his thanks to him for his life and he is happy he lived the life he did. And then after that, he hears the voice again and then he really thought he had lost it because he is blind and he is hearing things and he is in the middle of the ocean but then the two boats hit each other and then him and the voice keep talking to each other and they ask each other if they have food and they both say no and ad they ask if they can trade anything and Pi says no because he ate the cigarettes but he still has the casing where the tobacco goes and the other guy is confused on why he ate it and he said he had nothing else to eat and he doesn't smoke to he ate the cigarettes and the other guy said he had a boot and they started talking about eating the boot and how weird it would be and how Pi thinks it is wrong to eat the boot because it is a stranger boot and that it is made out of cow skin and how it is wrong because in one of his religions the cow is sacred. And then they pull each other closer and the other guy said he is blind to they give each other a hug and they fall into Pi’s boat and they are fighting and the other guy is choking Pi and then on one side the tiger kills the guy and eats him and then on the other side Pi kills the stranger with the hatchet and then eats him.
In chapter 90 of Life of Pi, I think what really happened was he was talking to himself and also he was going a little crazy because he was imagining that the tiger was talking to him and that a man was talking to him at a point when he was blind. I think that Pi killed the man and the tiger didn't because there was no tiger with him at all. Pi was sort of losing his mind because he was starving and he had no food to eat and no water to drink. I think that him talking to himself sort of helped him to keep having hope and to keep going on to try to get saved. I think that maybe he was talking to himself to try to calm himself down from all the stress and to try to get his mind off of bad things like dying and not having food or water. He started to go blind eventually because he had no food or water and it made him weak and sore and he did not have much strength left in him. He was telling himself what is name is and what he is known to be called or what he is known for. One of the quotes is “And now I leave matters in the hands of God, who is love and whom I love”. One of the other quotes is “ Dear Father, dear Mother, dear Ravi, greetings. Your loving son and brother is coming to meet you”. In this chapter Pi is sort of losing his mind and he is dying and he needs food and water. In the chapter, Pi is at the point where he will eat pretty much anything he can find or get because he is so hungry and he is so thirsty too and he is starving.
What is really going on in chapter 90 is that Pi’s mind is doing mind tricks on him because he is starving and dehydrated that is why the whole conversation that he had was just about food and water because that is all he could think about at the time. He was talking to himself on the edge because it was all about meat and when Pi brought up anything that was about vegetables his mind would stop him in the middle of the conversation and start speaking because his mind doesn’t like that kind of food because his mind was on the edge and there were fish all around him in the water so he was surrounded by meat. I think when the author put this in the book he wanted to show everyone that when you are starving and dehydrated that you will go blind and that there are more effects from starving and being dehydrated than just dying of thirst or dying from hunger. Even though when he still could see before this he could have gotten more fish to eat and he could have avoided this situation entirely and it is possible to meet someone from the same ship but it isn’t likely so when Pi got into that situation when the other person tried to kill him and eat him his instincts happened at the same time and he had to kill the other man to survive because when your in that situation it’s you or it’s him there is no maybe. At that moment you have to see how far your willing to go to survive and to make it back home safely. Pi needed something to eat because he was running on his last fumes and by any day he could have died on that boat and the boat would have probably drifted towards the Mexican coast but he would have died before that would have happened to him. “It is true that those we meet can change us, sometimes so profoundly that we are not the same afterwards, even unto our names.” ― Yann Martel, Life of Pi “When you've suffered a great deal in life, each additional pain is both unbearable and trifling.” ― Yann Martel, Life of Pi
In the chapter 90 in the begin the chapter start about how there was a problem with richard parker was not the same he was weakened and blind but pie knew he was weakened but did not know he was blind but when he threw a fish to richard parker he knew something was off cause the fish just bounce off his head down to the floor and useless richard parker would catch it richard parker had and to sniff out the fish cause he can’t see where it was at . during that day pie knows that his resources were going out when he had to drink 5 spoon full of water he had no food on board so that made him sad and at that day he notices that his eyes were going blinde because he did not have a lot of nutrition in his body. Pie had lost all hope of surviving he knew he couldn't take care of richard parker with his condition. But at the same time he was happy because he belvind when he died he would be reunited with his family his mom dad and brother. So when pie went blind he started to go crazy cause he had no socisalm with any one he started to talk to himself the person that he was talking with in his mind was richard parker but he did not know he was talking to him until they both started talking about food since pie was an vegetariane he stated name all his favorite food that had no meat on them like salend mango curd salad okra curd and many more. They there was this man who was stranded like pie he was blind to he wanted food but pie did had none they had a conversion for a while then the man started to attack pie because he wanted to eat pie but he did not know richard parker was aboard so richard parker ate him instead then pie ate the leftovers of the man dead body
Well, yesterday in chapter 90 PI tells us a part of the history that the producers of the movie didn’t tell us about. It was pretty interesting that part and I never hope that coming from the book. I have watched the movie twice and I like it. This part of the book was too hard and inhuman to put it in the film probably why they didn’t put the piece of the history in the film because it is something that can’t be watched for kids. I think that is good that the book has these parts like this so people can get encouraged and give a chance to the book and I like the book. For me, I think there are some parts of the books that I don’t understand because of the way that was written. Don’t get me wrong, but there are some parts need to be explained. The guy in the other boat saw PI probably and he was starving and we were evil because he wanted it to him. The thing is how after so much time in the ocean he didn’t see it until he went blind then he saw it. I think that was or something else or he was just talking to himself and never was a guy with another boat. If he was going to die he wouldn't have any strength to talk like how he was doing it because they talk about food and other stuff and they keep taking until the guy was“ bringing a foot down to the floor of the boat” and then the guys start to attack park trying to kill him until “ I hear the merest clicking of claws against the bottom of the boat, no more sound of a pair of spectacles falling on the floor. Richard Parker took care of the guys saving PI’s life and give him another chance to live. PI was so crazy that I do not know what to believe in because he could just be hallucinating all this.
then pi begins a conversation with the voice talking about what they want to eat because they are starving and running on nothing. Then they both started weeping and pi offers to tell the man a story but then the man says he had no use for it. The story was about how the banana was falling to the ground from the tree making someone feel better. “Pi said Richard Parker, is something wrong? Have you gone blind”? Anderson
Meinert Pi Patel is going blind the first thing that he notices is the fact he can barely see the sun and is he thinks he is talking to the tiger but really out of nowhere another boat hits him and there's another man on the lifeboat that came from the same boat that Pi did. For me I think that is really hard to believe but not impossible the other person started to talk to Pi and they learned more about each other and that kept them both alive. Later on, the guy went onto Pi and started to choke him so pi threatened that he had a tiger aboard the lifeboat so but he doesn’t stop so the tiger rips the skin on the back of the other person and kills him and he drinks the blood and ate some of the meat. But later on, Pi felt alone and felt that no one was there with him anymore. Then he starts to think that maybe he had killed the other person with a hatchet and drank his blood and ate some of his body and to get even more food by cutting him up and using him as bait to catch a big fish. But what I don’t understand is How did the other boat get to where Pi is now and why didn’t the other boat get to land before Pi did. Pi was telling different stories of what he would eat at a buffet, he would eat a whole lot of vegetarian food and a lot of deserts.
In this chapter he explains the pain him and Richard Parker go through even though both of them had gone blind. They are both getting slow and lazy as the days go by without getting enough food or water. Pi talks about how they don't have anything to survive for a longtime so they will soon be dead. Also Pi talks about how he is completely lost on his life and didn't know what he was supposed to do at the moment of losing his whole family. He thinks for himself that he needs to do things as he can to survive himself and save Richard Parker. He talks about how he had a moral damage because he doesn't have anyone to talk and also he had lost his family in one night when he didn't Imagine anything. He said that his suffering began the day he gets blind. He said that he failed as a zoo keeper because he couldn't take care of Richard Parker as he used to because he doesn't have the energy and also the supplies that Richard Parker used to get when they were in their country. He is going crazy, also he is seeing and hearing things that humans usually don't experience. He also talks about how he is talking to a random voice and hearing things that I think is that he was reading his mind. He thinks that Richard Parker is talking to him with the question. Now he thinks he is talking to his brother and he told him about how he felt when he lost all of them at once. He was hopeless for himself to do anything but he still wanted to keep Richard Parker alive and safe. At the end, Richard Parker ended up saving Pi life by killing the other man that wanted to kill Pi.
In this chapter, Pi starts talking about how he is losing his sight as the days go on and he starts to hallucinate. Pi tells us that both him and “Richard Parker” are losing their eyesight and how it is becoming very difficult to find the good out of living, especially when he has very little water and no foodThe man says the only food I have is a “Fine leather boot”. Then he said, “ I was hoping there would be someone else there”

“It is true that those we meet can change us, sometimes so profoundly that we are not the same afterwards, even unto our names.”

Along with them naming off food pi longs for vegetable dishes the voice-only talks about meat, beef, and brains. Next, he assumes he is hearing Richard parker’s voice again. Pi Patel is going blind the first thing that he notices is the fact he can barely see the sun and is he thinks he is talking to the tiger but really out of nowhere another boat hits him and there's another man on the lifeboat that came from the same boat that Pi did.
He meets the man and he said he doesn’t have food either and he reveals that he is blind to. Then they both started weeping and pi offers to tell the man a story but then the man says he had no use for it. The story was about how the banana was falling to the ground from the tree making someone feel better. Don’t get me wrong, but there are some parts need to be explained.
