What is the island? Answer with 350 words. Possibilities: Real, Heaven, Purgatory, Hell, Corpse. I feel like that the island is carnivorous like it eats people. And animals I dont get why or how put Pi said it is poisonous at night and good at day talkin about the water of course. But I thought water was the only thing apparently everything you would eat is poisonous at night like why would the meerkats run I don't understand that. I wonder why the meerkats didn't run away from Richard parker the lion or Pi. The mysterious Algae Island represents religion. Pi describes the island of very green in colour. Muslims believe that green represents home and safety. People turn to religion in times of need and despair. Religion gives people a sense of hope and guidance for what is to come in the future, therefore. Before coming across the island, Pi wrote in his journal Its no use. Today I die. I will die today. If Pi had not found the island, or found hope in his religion, he would have passed away on the lifeboat. The Agae Island is also a symbolic representation of the Garden of Eden. It offers salvation to Pi when he needs it the most. The tree where he finds the fruit with the teeth in the center is also a symbolic representation of the Tree of Knowledge found in the Garden of Eden. If Pi did not open up the fruit, he would not have gained the knowledge of realizing the island produces an acidic substance at night. Therefore he probably would have eventually ate or drank at night and would of died because he didn’t know the island was acidic. So everything happens for a reason and he survived because of the reason that he found teeth in a plant. So what's this island I don't know how to answer that accept it is heaven at day because the salvation it provides and the food it provides and the water provides but at night it becomes hell because if you drink or eat you will most likely die do to the acidic.

What is the island? Answer with three hundred and fifty or more words.

The possibilities of the island being real are none. I don't think the island was real. I think he was just imagining the island because where is there and an island where it is shaped exactly like the outline of a body. And I don't think the island is real because islands can eat you alive and have your teeth in flowers. Another reason I don't think it is real is that there was no sign of an actual island being out there and it was just a floating island so why would it be there one day but not the next. I don't think it was heaven because he wasn't dead and there was no sign of God and why would heaven have teeth in flowers. I think he was in the middle of alive and dead because he was stranded out there practically by himself on both sides of the story and he could have been fighting dying and he probably wanted to give up and die because he thought he had nothing left so he thought he shouldn't try if he was going to be alone and didn't think that he should die anyways. I don't think it could have been hell because the typical hell scene is with fire and being dark and he was still alive. There was also showing one possible body that had been on the island but how would he know that the island ate a person if it was even real. I think it was a corpse. The reason I think it was a corpse is because I don't think the island is real and him coming to an island like that is not a chance of happening so I think it was a corpse because there was a tooth and I'm guessing it was the corps tooth and the whole island was edible and I think that he did eat the corpse to stay alive. The other reason I think it is a corpse is that he loaded it in the boat and kept eating to stay alive and I think he was eating the body to stay alive.

What is the island?
The island was like Hell because the island was representing a human filled with alagi with a lot of meerkats on it. How this is representing hell is that the body is floating in the middle of the ocean and it helps the dude and the lion get to eat because he is a vegetarian and the lion eats the meerkats . The island is Heaven to them because he was talking to God about how he surrenders and that he gave up because he and the tiger were both getting weak and weary and don’t have a lot of strength. Then he fell asleep and he woke to a sunny day and floating by the island which gave him relief because he can actually get off the boat for a little bit and get some of his strength back. That is how the island was like heaven because he could eat and get fresh water and so could the tiger. The island was salvation to him because the island tempts him with an easy life and allowing him to stray from his journey he thinks he has been saved. Also after pie remains close to shore and sleeps in the trees richard parker indicated that the island returns to life from the meerkats coming onto the trees and staying off the ground. Then he realizes that the island turns deadly at night devouring fish that swim nearby because the algae turns to acidic and deadly. Then when he found the human teeth the island is carnivorous and it eaten a human being before him because someone else has been stranded on the island so he left his tooth. The island religious symbol of pi’s spiritual journey by showing the sense of easy, shallow kind of faith, and at first the island seemed promises and comfort and gave him food. Finally pie gains knowledge that the island was evil and by leaving on his own and rejecting an easy, treacherous faith and refusing to live in a spoiled paradise then he ended up on the mexian border and found a family of his own kind to rescue him.

It is death and life itself. I think the guy that stayed on it once he saw the meaning of it he couldn't look away from the beauty of how they represent each thing. There were millions of rodents why do you think they lived on there. Why do you think they went into the trees when they usually dig holes in the ground and hide in those and the water wasn't rising any more then the island ground. The rodents aren't afraid of the tiger because they have never seen a predator before so they are just like the dodo bird. So they arn’t stupid they just dont have the instinct and they would not have anywhere to go becasue the tiger could chase them in the trees. Who knows there could be an island like that out there its just we might never know. The island could stand for pi having to do cannibalism on the sailor. But who knows other then the author. We can make speculations but that is all they will be is specalations nothing more nothing less until we get to the sors of the facts. So if he ate a piece of the island then would that count as him eating a piece of meat because it eats meat? What do you think the first guy ate on that island the rodents or the island they are both edible and they are both easy to get to. But one you might want to cook first. Also why did he not parse the gods when he found the island. Why did he not let the rodents just sleep on him they would be like a blanket it would be nice and warm. I wonder what kind of poison the island eamits to kill all the fish. Also how does it eat the fish where is its mouth. And why don't fish just stay away if the rodents can sense it then why can't the fish. What where would the rest of the guys body be at. Why did he have such a great fit over killing the fish but not the rodents. What algy do you think it was that held the island up. The island would be interesting to study i sure would want to see it. It seems like it could be used in some way. Why didn't he look around the island more then just that. Why do you think it looked like a human? It would seem like that island would be just a nice little place what would it be like if people tried to take it over i feel like not smart tourist would die. The end i hope.

The island that Pi lands on is basically a venus fly trap. The daytime for Pi is that he can eat the island because it is like a whole bunch of vegetables that he can eat and the tiger can eat the meerkats and explore the island. Pi found some freshwater and started swimming in it. Pi wanted to stay the night but he saw in the water that all of the fish were dying and the plants eat the meerkats and anything that comes to the island. Pi found a tooth is buried in the leaves and he knew that he had to get back to the boat and call the tiger back so they can get back to another island. Pi collected some resources from the island like seaweed that he would eat until he got sick. I think that it is possible to get to an island that is floating and it being a carnivore, But it would be nearly impossible to find. Pi got to the border of Mexico looked at the tiger but the tiger didn’t look back. Some people found him and brought him to the hospital. Some reporters came in and asked a lot of questions for pi to answer and told them the truth but they wanted something more real and told a different story to them about how the boat sank and there was actually four survivors, the sailor, Pi, his mother, and the cook. The cook was an evil man and ate the sailor and the rat. The cook also tried to kill his mother and did so. Pi thin killed the cook only leaving him left on the boat alone. He believed in God and he said that he was ready to go to heaven but God didn't want that so he sent him a message the sailor represents as the zebra, The cook represents as the hyena, The orangutan represents as the mother of Pi, Pi represents as the tiger. Pi is married and has two kids. Pi told his story to another reporter that knew is half-uncle and wanted to believe in God and to tell Pi’s story to the world.

The Island is a living, eating, poisonous where anything green can live on it and during the day it makes the water fresh but at night it makes it very lethal to all creatures. If you die on that Island the place will eat you besides your teeth. A lot of things are possible in this world but an Island that has never been found by anyone besides PI it’s a lot to believe but I think it could be true about what happened to him. I think the Island is purgatory because either the water killed the last person on it or the island ate the person alive no matter which way the person died the island digested him. To this day we are still discovering things on earth and animals in the Mariana trench so this island could be out there but to have covered the whole pacific and have found nothing about this island is interesting. Something that I found interesting is that when PI was on the island there where bones of meerkats across the field where he was walking but the bones were visible they weren’t digested yet the island eats anything you would think the island would have already digested the bones but it didn’t. The island is very dangerous no one should find this island because you may never come back with the information that you have found because the island would eat you and leaving your teeth only to be discovered by someone. I think the island should have eaten more meerkats than what was shown and I think that the water that was on the island should have killed more sea animals because it showed fish but only one shark I think there should have been more than one shark that was effected from the island. Another thing that I found interesting is that when PI saw all the animals running away from the middle including Richard Parker instead of that giving PI a gut feeling that something is wrong it gave him curiosity by the expression of his face but when he found the tooth of a human being he soon got a gut feeling that there is something wrong with this island.

What I think about the island is that it is a combination of heaven, hell and I think it is real. First of all you might ask why I say is heaven because it helps him when he really needed it and he was in the point that he was going to die. Him and Richard Parker, but when he passed out and the water or God moved him to the island and there God will save them. He never stop to believe in God never until he knew he was going to die, he never stopped to believe. When woke up he couldn't believe it and he ate and drank water as much as he could, but at night every changed and he realized that when the Meerkat started to move and take care of the island. He saw the islands can eat meat when they are death, but the water also changes to an acid chemical. Everything is so strange and this is the part could be hell because kill everything on it. Can be a warning to leave the island. Why can be a warning because the teeth that he found on the leaves how he found it and casualty I don’t think so it was meant to happen of so many trees in the island he slept that in specific. God plays a role in this island because he never let him die like that after all PI’s faith and I think is bleess tha no anyone can see and feel. Real well he made it alive and without it he couldn't make it out and if you don't believe in the island can you tell me how he could survive so many days in the ocean. His father helped him so much because his lesson teach him how animals do not think as humans do. Because without him knowing that he could just get too close to the hyena or the tiger and could die eaten by them. Many experts think that our mine can create an imagination that we can see things even feel them that protect us of a trauma. He was without water and food the islands could be an imagination of himself, but he survived. He is the proof that God exists and helped him to survive, so many days and basically is impossible to survive without water for only 2 days you can live without water.

In the movie that I think the Island shows is hell. The reason why I think it shows hell is that mostly there is suffering, stress, worry, and also untrustworthy. I think it also represents how much struggle that happens while he was on the Island and also how he faced his fears to stay with the tiger and train the tiger to be able to stay with the tiger in the boat. I was really surprised when I saw that the tiger was trying to kill him the tiger was not getting close to him by being nice and he believed that he was going to change the tiger to be good and friendly with him to be able to stay in the boat with him together. He went through a lot of struggles after he lost his family and he needed to find somewhere and something that he can live with until someone discovered where he is and help him with his life. First, when I start watching the movie I thought the tiger was real but it is not. I think the tiger represents having the strength and being faithful to one another to be able to stay together without getting hurt. Even after he got saved and the tiger left for the rest of his life and he takes the blame for what has happened to his family and also he blamed himself for the things that happened to the animals that were with them when they first start going and before he even lost his family. For me, this movie shows how much a single person can do without getting anyone help even though they might need it at that time. I felt really sad for him when the tiger went to the mountains deeper and never came back I was sad for the boy because even though they were different species they managed to get along and for me, I guess that's what matters. I would totally recommend other people to watch this movie because it gives people courage and strength on how to handle their life situation.

What is the island? Answer with 350 words.
Possibilities:
1. Real
2. Heaven
3. Purgatory

What us the island? I think it can be many things, like for instance, in one of Pi’s religions, it could be a God who has created this island and has been waiting for certain people to find him. This is a little believable in the sense that many of the Gods represent a type of element or feeling, where this God could represent a sign for Pi. At least that's what I think it could be. With the other ones, I will explain why/ how they could be true. Real, this island could actually be very real due to the fact that our world is so big and there are still places that our people have not found to this day, which to me is so amazing. The island could very well be still out there waiting for the next traveler to come along and either help or destroy, luckily Pi was smart enough to know better. And he was able to survive by leaving the island and making it back to the world. Heaven, the island was like heaven to Pi on his journey because it gave him hope and time to rest, in the movie he says, “the gods knew he was tired, so they gave him the island to rest”, this changes the whole story since he was about to give up and let go of his life but he felt like he had to make it back to the real world since the Gods gave him this sign. Purgatory, The island was very much like purgatory but instead of God making the choice, it was Pi’s choice whether he wanted to live or not. When he woke up from sleeping and saw that the pools were acid and the island could kill him, he decided that he was not going to die and set out the next day, which shows that he had the choice and he chose correctly. The island I think could very well be real, and I want to believe it is, because, with some of these stories, it helps one believe in the God above.

The Island was real but fake at the same time. I think that he did make it to an island but it was not made outa what it shows in the movie I think that it was a normal island but he was going crazy so he started imagining things. I think that him making it to the island was a big push of hope for him and that’s what gave him the energy to make it home. I think that they made the island a body shape was to show that someone was there with him the whole way on the boat. I think he was just imagining all the meerkats because he was going insane. I think that the island was more of heaven because it gave him a place to rest and get food so he could have the energy to make it home. One thing that confused me was how the water was fresh in the day and saltwater at night so the fish could come in for the meerkats. I think that it is super interesting how at the end of the movie no one believed him.

I think that with the island it wasn't real he saw an island and landed while hallucinating as he already saw the what the island was there and he saw no animals and started eating the plants and he was in a tree with animals but not meerkats, I think in his mind after for how long it's been since he saw land or anything that was on the ground he was excited and landed but his vision started to play tricks on him for what he saw and probably found a dead body or the tooth on the island which is why he left it's quite dark to think what he saw on that island and all the "MeerKats" he saw was probably something else that island for him was about to be his final resting place and would've died on that island but decided to move on for some reason or that tooth he saw. but some of my other thoughts that involve his story he told would've been what he saw as a transition into another life or be reborn again at that island would've been a passing place between life and death or purgatory the in-between he was dying already and probably was going to pass if he didn't find the tooth or pulled out one of his own, we don't know. The tiger had the right idea so I think deep down he was telling himself to move on this isn't right which is what drove him to move on the second wind that he was given by something up above to live on instead of dying. One of my other thoughts were his final place where he wanted to live an easy life on the island or the boat he was on and was eating maggots to stay alive from the body which is what it was and pulled out a tooth from it and packed up and put the body in the water and moved on for his final push.

I haven’t decided yet if the island its self is real or not because there is no proof it exists but just because we haven’t seen or found something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I suppose that there is a small chance that this island does exist. I’m sure there are more two it and he could have imagined some of the details in the movie because he has had little water and is in the sun all day with little sun so he could very easily have heat exhaustion and there could also be many other factors on why he could imagine it. I also think that Pi could have been so delusional that he could have washed ashore to an actual island or another piece of land that could have had people on it. But I feel like the island can also represent a state of purgatory almost in his journey to survive too. The island came to him right as he woke up as if he was dreaming or hallucinating due to his lack of proper nutrition. When he was on the island he found that everything he needed to survive. To me if the island isn’t real then “island” is kinda test Pi to see what he chooses, Life or Death. The “island” gives him the option to stay and never be hungry or thirsty and know that he will live but never see anyone again. Or to overcome the temptation to stay and continue his journey and have faith in God that he will eventually make it safely.
