(From what I've seen) My favorite HAS to be the day of the bet where the guys place their bets to see if Mr. slick man himself can eat 50 eggs in an hour because it basically tells the others "Don't f*k with me." and asserts his dominance towards everyone else in the prison.
My favorite character has to be Dragline because he looks like he knows his s*t about the entire place and helps you out if you're having any trouble on a certain topic and will lead you through the process step by step.
My favorite scene is a really good question just the fact that I like the whole movie. If I had to pick a couple it would be Dragline vs. Luke, the second time he escapes, and when he stole the truck and the last scene. I pick the fight just the fact that no one has stuck up to Dragline. But Luke did because he said that I’m not staying down, he has to kill me before I go down. Dragline kept beating him over and over again but Luke would not stay down. After a while, Dragline stopped and walked back into the cabin. Dragline saw something in Luke and Dragline starts to become friends, but more like follows Luke around, and Luke becomes his “leader” but Dragline needs someone like that. I picked the second time he escaped because it was smart what he did. A boss told him to go shake a bush and he did but he tied a rope to it and then he took off. Then he got to an African American little town and he got one of the boys to get him an ax so he could cut the chain. He got the other boy to get him chili powered and two other spices. So he could spread it around so he could get the dogs all messed up. But then he got caught again. The last scene I picked was when he stole the truck. Luke stole a truck but he had to listen to the bosses and when he kept going back and forth he stole the keys then took a truck and Dragline went with them. Then got to a part by a lake or small pond and put the truck there and hid it with tree branches. Then he got to a town but Dragline and Luke split up and Luke went to a church and prayed to God. Then Dragline came in and told Luke that the bosses wouldn’t kill him but No Eye Boss shot him. The main boss said that he is going to the camp doctors over an hour away. I think Luke died and now Dragline is going to carry what Luke did for them. My other favorite character is Dragline because he keeps everyone, but the bosses, under control. Also, he helped Luke escape and helped everyone as matter of fact. So this is my favorite scene and my other favorite character. Pfeiffer
I like the scene where Lukes mom came to visit him because it was a sweet memorie and they got to talk before she passed and it was sweet because they did ‘t get to see each other often. That scene was sweet because his mom gave him a guitar that she had and he kept that by his side the whole time and even play some somes. Another scene I like is the one in the very beginning where he is taking the meters off the poles because it was kinda funny and he knew what he was doing even though he was drinking, I don’t think he was completely wasted. Another scene I like was the first time he ran when they dug out a whole in the bunk so he could escape. There was another guy that trued to get away with Luke but Luke was faster and smarter and had more ability to do things. The other guy got stuck on the fence and got beaten and put in the box. When they found Luke they also put him in the box and that a couple days later. Luike was all by himself his whole movie and his head was straight in his own way. Other than Luke the one character I liked was the blinde that could beat everyone up. I like him because he changed as the movie went on. He thought at first he was the meanest one in the camp. As the movie went on he figured out that he is not the smartest out of the group and he gives Luke some respect because Luke was not going to take and crap from anyone and he kept standing back up in the ring. Luke won that because he did not leave the ring like the blinde did. Luke was beat up pretty good but Liuke was not going to give up. Luke had some plans in his head once he got to the camp and he came up with some more while in the camp. He was smart and ettegant and he could get through anything. I would say Luke was a fighter and always has been and he did not take any crap from anyone, which kinda reminds me of myself because I don’t let anyone boss me around or make me do things. I do what I am told to do and that’s it. Luke never gave up and I won’t give up either. Luke fought for what he thought was right.
My favorite character besides Luke would have to be the man with no eyes. The reason why I choose him is that when we first saw him in the movie, he looked like authority. He looks like he holds a lot of power and that you don't want to mess with him. Plus, he has insane accuracy with a rifle. He has shown this multiple time in the movie. He shot a bird out of the sky, and he shot a turtle out of the water. The one time when it didn't look like that he didn't have good accuracy was when Luke was behind a bush and the man with no eyes could hit him. When Luke ran away from him again, this time Luke just outsmarted him, you can tell that the man with no eyes was pretty made that he got even though he didn't show any emotion. The one question that I do have for the movie is, why didn't the man with no eyes talk? I wonder if he just can't talk? Or if he just doesn't want to talk? Another question I have is why didn't he show any emotion throughtout the movie? Did he serve in the war? Or did he have a ruff child hood?
I think my favorite part was when Luck ate the 50 eggs, I was so impressed, I liked how sometimes it looked like he was going to throw up or give up on eating the 50 eggs and also how he got motivated to keep eating the eggs. Also, I like the scene where he escapes for the second time and how those boys help him. I think this was a good movie. My favorite character I think was luck because he was so affable. I also think this movie had a moral because It shows how prisoners suffer for making a bad choice on their life and I think that's good to show because it may keep people on the right track even though jails ain’t like this in America.
My favorite scene was probably the fight between dragline and luke. The reason this scene is my favorite is because luke shows perseverance and determination. He was determined to stay in the fight and win even without actually fighting. he persevered through the pain until dragline was done with him; luke gains respect from all the other inmates. this shows that it is not necessarily strength that can win your battles. yes, strength helps but strength often gives overconfidence and that is not always a good thing. Dragline was my favorite character because of the relationship he built with luke. After the fight Dragline had more respect for luke and was not as rude to him. He eventually made it fun for the other inmates as well an example of this is when they have the competition on the road, this scene caused them to get more time off from work that day. another part that was interesting was when Dragline tried to tell luke that everything would go back to normal. Luke knew it was false though because he gave them almost a perfect shot. Luke gave his life in order to have peace because it seems he has not had a great life. -miller
My favorite scene in the entire movie was when Luke was playing poker with his fellow mates. When playing poker, he commented, "Sometimes, nothing can be a real cool hand." After that comment the mates nicknamed him "Cool Hand Luke." The reason why I it was my favorite was because it gave me the understanding of the title, and he was going to do goods things to help inmates and the one inmate he connects with the most. The whole concept and idea made me thinking of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Green Mile, and The Shawshank Redemption.
The character that I got the most invested in was Dragline. Dragline was the one who was connected to Luke and spend the most time to him. The reason why I was invested was because I knew he was going to be the one to survive. Whenever I see movies where people are in prisons or asylums, two people share their interest, and the second one always has be lucky while the other has go through hell.
who is your favorite character my favorite character is luke I like how he is go with the flow he kinda reminds me of my self he likes to live outside the lines doesn't have a plan but kinda just waits to see what happens and acts on it. in the last escape, he went to each truck just to take the keys that way no one would be able to chaise him thats something i would of thought of luke is like a stubern horse if he dosnt wanna do something he wont do it he but when he wants something he will never give up in the process even if it means hes might get killed for it i really like how the guys look at him they really look up to him becaues of how daring and smart he is i love thr risk facter in the guys whole attitude with out risk there isnt that much rewared i dont think he would of got crazy when his mom died if they didnt put him in the box what they have there own rules and want to stick to them but it gave him to much timme to think. so he kinda made a plan these are the reasons i like cold hand luke
My favorite scene in the narratology is when they were working on the black top road and they had to put dirt on it. It’s my favorite because it shows teamwork and it also shows them having fun and racing to see which team gets down with their side first. I also like it because they bosses didn’t do anything about it and let it happen but it's good for them to get some time off because of all the hard work they have to do all the time. My favorite character would have to be Dragline. He’s my favorite because he was the boss at first but then he settled down and let Luke be the boss because Luke was smarter. Also at first he didn’t like that many people as friends and during the movie he was making bets with everyone that Luke couldn’t eat 50 eggs. He also loans the money out but Luke has to agree which is nice of him.
First I'll start with a review of the film first before I go into my favorite scene, character, and personal theory about the themes and messages in Cool Hand Luke. For a 1967 film, it does hold up well in a lot of areas from actings, sets, music, and cinematography throughout. There are some very symbolic shots showing varying degrees of how the characters are feeling and what are they going through. Crosses and other religious imagery can be seen all throughout the runtime along with nods towards themes of non-conformiity, rebellion, a desire for self freedom, perseverance against harsh odds, and friendship. I would give this classic film a solid 9/10, must watch for people who want to learn about classic movies of decades. Now to my favorite scene in this film, frankly, there are some really good scenes that are very iconic to this day but I would have to go with the escape attempts and the egg scene. The reason why I picked these 2 scenes as my favorite ones from this entire film, well, because they have some major relevance towards some major themes I mentioned earlier, the 3 escape attempts we see Luke tried are really showing his motivations for just wanting to be free is really powerful because he was very intelligent about how to cover up his tracks and getting really far just on foot alone. For the 3rd and final one where Dragline joins in and they get the furthest and we really see how far these two had come and become close friends, thus making it heartbreaking when the police and TMWNE(The Man With No Eyes) found them in the abandoned church and arrested Dragline but TMWNE shot Luke right in the neck, and they take the slowest possible route to get back to the prison camp so Luke tragically dies from his inquiry. The egg scene is where we really see how far Luke is willing to show how much abuse he's going to take just to show much perseverance and will to eat 50 hard-boiled eggs in 1 hour. At the end of the scene, he played on a table with his body displayed like a crucifix, showing a possible parrel to Jesus as he might be taking the sins of the other prisoners just like Jesus did.
Cool hand luke he was smart but he hands a bad habit of doing bad thing so in the first scene it shows him cutting parking meters down so he went to jail for 2 years when he got there the boss said to him i feel like that you'll be a troublemaker so he settles into his new home and the first thing that happen is a big man by the name of drag started to pick on him but luke played it off and had fun during work time drag did the same thing but luke played it off again so that night drag said to him you beater have energy tomorrow boy cous you're going to get knocked out So the next day came and cool hand luke and drag were boxing and drag was pummeling him but luke got up ever time he got down and he keep going and going and going but drag couldn't do it anymore he felt bad for doing that now and the he stop he look at him luke was about to fall but drag caught him and laid him down and walked away he know if he were to keep going he was going to kill him and he didn't want that but during that time he came to respect him and so became good friends with him the next day they decided to have a friendly little battle to see who can get done first and both side finish at the same time so they get to have the half of the day off they went back and they got bored quick so luke said out loud i will eat 50 egg in under an hour every one thought he was crazy but drag siad will lets get this beat started but the only rule is that he can not throw up so a week passed and luke was training the day has come for him to eat 50 eggs he stated great and eating a much as he can about the time he made it to 28 eggs he was ok at the time but started to get week about the 45 eggs in he had help with the last few but at the end of it he won he eat 50 eggs and won the beet
But out of all the people in the movie dragline was my favorite character
What is your favorite scene? when the luke acts like he will do anything he asks to do. Why because they think he will do anything he asks to do. When the boss asks to get water from the car he takes a key from and when the boss asked for a gun and he takes the key. he acts like he doing anything but he taking the key from the car and he takes one car to a runner off.
what is your favorite scene? my favorite scene was when luke escaped the first time and when he got caught he was brought to the working sight and he talked back and got whacked. I was surprised he didn't punch the guy serving the food during the line. I think it was funny that he was caught driving a new buggy and pulled aside a cop at a stoplight. my favorite person is the warden because of how he talks and how he does his job. it sucked how he took him to the camp hospital instead of an actual one.
My favorite scene is probably when Godfrey shoots the bird passing ahead which forms an image/thought in the prisoners head on how good of a shot he truly is. I like this part of the movie because it’s almost like a western cowboy film, in a way like showing how good of a shot the protagonist truly is. This gives off almost an unspoken don’t screw with me type of feeling, as it’s like how Ben Wade is considered to be the baddest MF around in 3:10 to Yuma. I believe this scene in the movie also speaks so loudly because Godfrey doesn’t speak, which creates a very large impact. I guess one of my other favorite characters besides Luke is Dragline, simply because he changes so much throughout the film and becomes a softer, more caring person than in the beginning. Most people obviously wouldn’t expect this, especially from the largest guy in a chain gang.
mt favorite scene in cool hand luke is the scene where Luke convinces the rest of the prison to get done with their task as quickly as possible so they can get more free time and this scene to me shows how Luke is much more intelligent than any of the other inmates and shows that they will follow luke no matter what they do, my favorite character is dreadline cause he is the best at gambling and it shows he has some sort of intellect other than being a big brute that forces people to do what he wants.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie was when Luke was fighting. I like the scene because it says a lot about Luck and what he is capable of. The first thing is that he is not scared he got challenged into a fight with the strongest guy in the camp and he accepted the challenge, and that says a lot about him. When he was fighting he kept his guard up but the other opponent was bigger and stronger but Luke had the mindset to not give up. Luke was constantly getting hit from left to right. Even though he got hit that many times the opponent could have killed him and he knew that. Why I think he didn't give us because he a lot on his mind and regrets and wanted the pain he had never felt before. Then Luke's opponent gave up because he had to kill him to win.
My favorite scene from the movie was probably the fight between Luke and Dragline because Luke really showed determination and stood his ground, even though he wasn’t “winning” the fight. Everyone was cheering and excited at the beginning of the fight but after a while, they all went quiet and just watched, which makes it a little more interesting because even everyone else is shocked like they’d never seen anything like it before. At the end of the fight, it’s all up to debate on who really won, Dragline seemed to be winning from a fighting standpoint, but Luke kept getting back up, so although it seemed like Dragline won, Luke also won in a way as well. As for my favorite character other than Luke, it would probably be “The Man with no Eyes” because of his silence and tone throughout the movie, while still making a point, screams authority. He’s a very apparent, standout figure throughout the movie. All that combined with quick, pin-point gunshot accuracy, makes him a very unique, interesting, and authoritative character, which all makes him my favorite.
Gurung There are a lot of favorite parts or scenes when The Beowulf Kill Grendel. That one is my favorite scene because in The Beowulf he is a strong and brave guy who wasn't afraid to fight with a big monster. And he saved the village from monsters. I don't understand the movie so that's why I am doing this.
A favorite scene is when he eats 50 eggs because that is crazy to me to eat that many eggs and he didn't give up he actually did it and my favorite character would be Luke because he is the main character and the best character in the movie in my opinion.

Cool hand luke he was smart but he hands a bad habit of doing bad thing so in the first scene it shows him cutting parking meters down so he went to jail for 2 years when he got there the boss said to him i feel like that you'll be a troublemaker so he settles into his new home and the first thing that happen is a big man by the name of drag started to pick on him but luke played it off and had fun during work time drag did the same thing but luke played it off again so that night drag said to him you beater have energy tomorrow boy cous you're going to get knocked out
So the next day came and cool hand luke and drag were boxing and drag was pummeling him but luke got up ever time he got down and he keep going and going and going but drag couldn't do it anymore he felt bad for doing that now and the he stop he look at him luke was about to fall but drag caught him and laid him down and walked away he know if he were to keep going he was going to kill him and he didn't want that but during that time he came to respect him and so became good friends with him the next day they decided to have a friendly little battle to see who can get done first and both side finish at the same time so they get to have the half of the day off they went back and they got bored quick so luke said out loud i will eat 50 egg in under an hour every one thought he was crazy but drag siad will lets get this beat started but the only rule is that he can not throw up so a week passed and luke was training the day has come for him to eat 50 eggs he stated great and eating a much as he can about the time he made it to 28 eggs he was ok at the time but started to get week about the 45 eggs in he had help with the last few but at the end of it he won he eat 50 eggs and won the beet

My favorite scene is when luke eats 50 eggs and my favorite character would be Dragline because he is the biggest guy there and one of the leaders.

There are a lot of favorite parts or scenes when The Beowulf Kill Grendel.
