when you want to forget somthing you cant becaues its carved into your brain and when you try to forget you just keep thinking about that little thing meier
To some extent yes, this can happen if someone experiences some kind of trauma at a young age or something that sticks with someone due to its nature, like a nightmare or bad dreams. We forget the things we want to remember because, in the back of our minds, it's considered not important to live and will be tossed to the wayside for something else entirely.
It is true just the fact when something has a huge impact on your life and you want to forget about it your mind won’t let you. Your mind won’t let you because it is buried in your brain. Also if you wanna remember something important you can’t because it didn’t make a huge impact on your life. Pfeiffer
the one thing that I would like to remember is the name of people that I talked to becomes it would be nice to go up to something start talking to them and waking away remembering their name
the one thing that I would like to forget is the car crash I had last year man it stinks losing a good car even putting 5 grand into it just to lose it all.
It's true because our brain is like that. Basically, it's what makes a big impact on how you live your life. Like losing a loved one you will never forget them they will always be with you, unlike passing a test you will most likely forget that you ever passed it.
I believe that the quote “We remember what we want to forget and forget what we want to remember” is true because I have have this happen all the time. It is pretty irritating sometimes. Sometimes it gets to you and you can’t do anything about it because it happens randomly. I don’t know exactly why it happens but I can say maybe it happens because some things are not as important as others and the things that are not as important are the things you forget. It seems that they don’t have an impact on what your doing or what your thinking.
"We remember what we want to forget and forget what we want to remember." this is only sometimes true in my opinion because not everything has a huge impact on our minds. For example, I was talking to my friend about class and I couldn't remember what one of our classmate's names was, even though I talked to him during class. Then again the only time I have heard his name is was when he is called on during class. Now the part where we remember, I remember freshman year, bleh most of that year was sucky all around for me except for a few things I guess. I am not going to state why because nunya. Miller
In my opinion, I don't think that it is fully true. The reason why I think this is because usually when I want to remember something I will. I think we just have so many memories to the point where we won't remember all of them.
well the traumatic events are the ones we most remember because of the mistakes we did that lead to those events and the happy ones are always forgotten in time because we are meant to remember what we did and we hate ourselves for what we've done for this to happen
I think it's true how we forget what we want to remember and remember what we want to forget because when I try to forget something there is always something there that reminds me of what happened but when I try and to remember something but can't. most of the time I try to remember I get distracted by something
I believe this statement is very true, as I’m sure almost everybody in the world can say it happens to them on a regular basis. We learn new things every day, and there seems to be only so much one can retain. I suppose I would debate whether the human brain is too small to contain everything, or if it just keeps what it thinks is important/interesting. I tend to never keep things that I learn, such as math or government, as compared to things I’m generally interested in. It seems as though there’s many different things in life that can affect what we remember or think about, such as traumatic events or something that we care about.
I would say it’s true that we seem to constantly forget what we want to remember and remember what we want to forget. I say it’s true because on multiple occasions I’ve forgotten many things that I needed to remember, whether it’s a small task I had to do soon, or remembering to grab something before I leave. I think people forget things like this because it’s nothing major, your mind just sort of throws it out after a bit. I think you remember things you want to forget because they stick out a lot more, or they’re just so bad that you don’t want to remember it, along with constantly wanting to forget it could just be a constant reminder in the end.
I agree with this statement because sometimes we want to forget something that made a huge impact on our life but we keep remembering it, sometimes we need to forget some bad stuff that may be affecting us but we keep remembering.
Our brain works weird sometimes. We remember the thing that you don't want to remember because It's a time in your life that made you feel sad or mad so it keeps it behind your brain and if you think of it it would come up. Also, you don't remember the things that you would want to remember because it made you happy and you really don't think much about it because it wasn't a tragic moment in your life. As they say "times fly by when you have fun" it is just like trying to remember a thing that was positive in your life but you can't remember it.
RAI Most of the time I want to say something to someone but I forget what I want to say. This happens some the time you forget what you want to say to someone. I think when forgetting something that means it is not imported to say.

This is very true it happens to me all the time, for example, I was trying to kill a bee and I remembered the bee could sting me and makes honey.

This is true cause you always find what you're not looking for and you can never find what you're actually looking for and it makes me mad.
