My most favorite part of the book so far is when the father gave the son possible the very last Coke A Cola. The reason why I choose this part is that it shows how caring the father is for him. He could have drunk that thing to the last drop for himself but he chooses to give it to him. Even though it is a book I could see the son's face when he took the first drink. That Coke was probably the first kind of sugar he had.
The worst part of the book in my opinion would have to be when they saw all of the people lock up in a basement ready to be eaten. This is terrible, the only way to survive it seems like is to be bad, eat people for food. When the book was describing them, you could hear their screams for help, you can see them and felt bad about what they have to go through.
what is my favorite part of the book so far you ask, well to me it's the part when they find the coco (pop) and he gives it to his son. Yes, you can think of it as a sad thing because it's the last pop he could have or you think of it was a good thing. I see it as hope that it is still good in that world. At least he got to try it and his father could have not let him since kids don't have pop a lot. with my family at my mom's we can only have a pop when we ask and it's only once in a while so believe it or not I'm not really a fan of pop, it's just too much for me. but at my dad's we drink pop all the time and is ok with my little sister having it. so unlike myself, she likes pop and I don't. so to me, it just shows that he wants his son to try new things and still make sure he is safe. I know there are better things coming but for now, that is my favorite part because of the love he gives to his son.
Now, what is the least favorite part of the book right now? well for me it's the part when they go into the house and go downstairs and see the people. The dad doesn't help them, he just runs away. Then we were going to ask his son to kill himself. At this time all I could think about was those poor people that were going to be eaten. He could have waited for them to leave the next day and help the others, or at least kill them so they aren't in pain. But he just closed the door and acted like he didn't see anything. That is something I never want to do, everyone's life matters not just his and his sons.
I like the part of the novel where the kid sees another boy. I like that scene because the boy really does see a kid around his age and I think the dad was just nervous and wanted to protect the boy. The dad kinda snapped at the boy because the dad thought they could possibly get hurt or shot. The boy just wants the friend I think because he never really had a friend. He never lived like we do, we have school which helped us get friends and helps us get more socialized. I think the boy wants to play with someone with his toys and have fun with someone other than his family or his dad. I think the kid is lonely even though he has his dad. I think the other boy wanted him to join him before his dad came and took him away. I think the other boy wanted someone to play with to. I think the dog was a big part of this scene because that showed they have a bigger family and they were not bad people because they did not each each other or the dog. I think those people are nice and willing to help if they could.
One scene I don’t like in this novel is where the dad forces the kid to go into a house down south where the bad people kept their bodies. I don’t like this because it eas very dangerous and the bad people came and almost took them to. Luckily the man or dad got the kid away in time to get away from the bad guys. I think that opening that dorm was not a good idea because the bad guys could probably smell their humans in the basement and knew someone opened the door. The people down their could have taken the boy and started eating him and the dad.. The people down their could have raped them and tore them to shreds. I think the boy was in the right here bevasie before they went down there or even in the house the boy said that it eas not a good idea. The kid knew something was up and he did not want to get into the trouble or danger of it. The dad refused to listen to him thought. The dad yelled at the little boy for being a baby and drying when the kid was in the right.

My favorite part of the book so far probably would be the beginning when we did not know the details of the story. This is my favorite because it created a path to the unknown. The book gets more interesting as we read. The details help with the images created in our mind to visualize the setting as well. As the father and son grow weaker they seem to not have a super amount of motivation as they did in the beginning. In my opinion they should be more motivated so they can be safe from people. That's just me though. Another one of my favorite parts when they killed that road rat or savage, this was interesting to me because it showed the boy that death is inevitable to villains. At the time he did not realize that because he is a ten year old who just got brains splattered on him.
Least favorite part for me is when the boy gives the dad silent treatment for doing things such as the death to that road rat savage. These parts are my least favorite because they cause tensions between the two and makes the boy seem disrespectful to his dad. Also the people locked in the basement was bad. Those innocent people should have been freed

Frankly, I'd think we should have saved this type of assignment after we finish the novel rather than doing it when we are barely at the 1/3 mark.
So, so far there hasn't been a "happy" moment, just sadness, misery, fear, shocking, and horrid depictions of how far humanity has fallen in this post-apocalyptic world Cormac McCarthy has written. I do find this interesting as an exploration of how far a parent is willing to put their child first in situations rather than themselves. We read that the world almost always has an ash grey color over everything, the snow, the water, the houses, the food, people, and other things that have this ash look towards them. It gives off a very oppressive and dangerous feeling towards the entire world showing that it is dying by the destruction humanity has inflicted upon it. So far we are shown that humanity is going back from what it has done, to things like slavery, cannibalism, rape, torture, and other messed up stuff.
Due to this much depressing material we read so far, I'd don't have a favorite scene or moment. Guessing we would see some differences later on in the novel but it just feels like a very bleak depiction of the future but nowhere as messed up as the one in Harlen Elson's "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream." I do have a complaint and that we kinda butt in too many pop-culture references that don't really fit the tone or atmosphere the novel is showing us. I see why to use them to help us get an understanding of the subject material but maybe pick ones that are more or less relevant to the subject matter that is happening in the book.
My favorite part of the book so far is how much the father is willing to give to his son to make sure he continues his legacy. I feel like we live in a world where many people would give up and not strive towards these particular ways. Not many people could ever see it this way, as they choose not to be as open minded. But I firmly believe that the ones who do continue to try and instill greatness are the ones who were solely made for carrying the fire. I guess I feel like this spoke to me so much because my father was also this way. He loved his kids more than words could ever describe and I feel as if it would tear him apart to watch one of us give up that easy. It’s a very tough topic as I feel it’s almost more sane to give up, but it also shows a sign of weakness. My dad always prided himself on how strong and sedulous his kids are and I’ve always taken that rather close to heart. I want to do my best to make both of my parents proud, even if it means I have to struggle.
The part I don’t like about the book is how ignorant the child is. I do realize that he grew up without the knowledge of many things, but it drives me rather insane. He’s constantly questioning things and always second guessing everything. When we watched the movie, I was rather frustrated because it also came off as the kid only cared about himself. He seems to have almost no recognition of how much his father loves him, or how much he does for him. I know many people like this in life, and it makes it very hard to stand them. Trust is something I’ve always cared about, but others seem to not have the same feelings about it. This kid seems to not trust his father, even though the father goes out his way for the child 24/7 in the book, no matter how tired or weak he is. I’ve been in relationships like this in the past, where it seems almost as if you could give somebody everything in the world, and they’d never be grateful enough or show any sort of care. It only ever creates problems and becomes twice as exhausting.

My favorite part of the novel so far will have to be the way he is patient with his son and how well he treats him. They are in a dark time and place it happened to be that his son was born in the most tragic moment in humidity. The world is dark and very dangerous. There is always something out there to get you or something you have to get but can not find. The dad wants his son to live and treat him the best way possible because he wants someone to be with not have to be alone. His son sometimes is a little bit curious and will talk when danger is present or asking dumb questions. But he does not get mad at him for it. He explained to him what is right and wrong in a way he will listen to. That is why they are both alive. I feel like if it wasn't for his son to be alive he wouldn't too. It is the love that they have for each other.
My least favorite part of the book is The way people had ended up like. Now it's all about survival. people are either eating, rapping, and killing each other It's a free for all for everyone you either get killed or kill them. I think what should have happened when the apocalypse happened is they should have gotten together and work with one another. Humanity depends on the people that are still alive if they're all dead then there will be no one to look after the earth.
I think it’s probably his happiest book. This is a little weird to say but it does have the most sincere and the most love relationship of all of his books and writings between the father and the son. It is very powerful to us in a way because of relationship status and family. You can’t doubt the importance of that love and the sustained power of it and its priority both for the characters and the premise of the book as a whole. The least favorite part for me would be when the mom. kills herself and leaves them on their own because she didn't want to be killed by anything else.
Well, I don’t have a likable/sad part of the story because my brain mostly plays the ability to be incredibly stupid because when watching/reading something interesting/informative, that stuff gets sucked up there like an expired food product rushing through to make you sick/poop constantly, but when I’m watching/reading something that someone has told me about, that info go in and out like the air we breathe throughout our entire lives, goes in and out 24/7/365, my thought process is like this as well, Interesting stuff goes in, the semi-interesting stuff gets picked at random and the other boring stuff takes a quick tour and gets fined an ungodly amount of cash that even I know would be too much for me to pay (the fine is an average month’s rent in 2020) but the mind is a weird thing that we were given out of god’s spite because “haha monkie brain go BRRRRRRRRR OHH OHH AHH AHH” and lead to the downfall of the human race for all of eternity to spite us for evolving and no, I’m not drunk, I’m high off of sleep deprevation

My favorite part of the novel is when the father has second thoughts and feelings about ending things and putting himself and his son out of misery. When the father starts having second thoughts about it, it proves to me that he's trying his best not to give up and move on while trying to survive for the rest of your life. It also makes me think that they'll be the ones to solve the world's problem and save everyone because they moved on and didn't give up on themselves. I see this like in every dystopian/apocalyptic movie and book. The character always goes down hill and they think about giving up while trying to survive and save the world during the middle and edges of the middle parts. When those parts end they get themselves back up and do what they have to do to survive and solve the world's problems. I have a good feeling that this is going to happen and they'll succeed and I just know it. So, those were the reasons why it is my favorite part of the book because I like how they always do that in books and movies. However, my worst parts of the novel were the father wanting to end his misery along with his son too many times. When he keeps this up something bad has to happen. There's a scene in the book where he was about to kill his son, but he missed and accidentally shot a person and killed. That part irritated me and I know it's going to make things worse for them. What I mean by that is that he killed a guy by accident and it'll affect him and he'll be thinking about putting himself out of his misery including his son even more. If he keeps this up after the middle part is over and decides to do it anyway without any second thoughts, it'll ruin the book for me and teaches me nothing and they just gave up on themselves and failed to solve the world's problems. So now it makes sense why I don't like this part and it's making me worried that it'll ruin the book for me. But I'm starting to become less worried since some parts in the middle part of the book are going well and I have a chance that it'll have a great ending and not ruin the book for me.

My favorite part of the novel is when they go old house and found a lot of food. Why because they can have a lot of food to eat or have a lot of options to eat food. The dad says there is a lot of food and water. even the dad put a hand in the head when seeing the food.
My favorite part of the novel so far is when the father and child went back to the old house. I liked this part a lot because it felt very sentimental, it really visualized how much this house really meant to the father, all the memories, how much he misses it all, and I’m positive he wishes he could have it all back. I also believe it’s a really great example of valuing what you have while you have it, to make the most out of the little things.
As for my least favorite part, I would say when they had found all those people in the basement. Now, even though this is my “least favorite part”, it’s not that I hate it, actually, I thought the part was very interesting, but it would rank as the least favorite because it’s not something you necessarily “like” hearing about. Even with that, still a very greatly written part of the story.

The best part of the novel to me is when he gave his son that last coca-cola. It’s the best part because his dad could’ve been selfish and drank it by himself but he let his son drink it. The dad gave it to his son because he wanted his son to see what pop tastes like. He also gave it to him as a treat because they don’t really have anything else they could use as treats. He had to explain it to his son about what it was and he did a good job explaining it.
The worst part of the novel to me is when the mother took her own life or gave up. It’s the worst part because she just gave up and didn’t have any hope that she wanted to survive. To me, I think she is really selfish because she didn’t care what the father or the son would’ve said. She could’ve at least said goodbye to the father and son but she refused to say goodbye. She didn’t even want the father and son to come with her; she just wanted to go by herself. I think the mother is the most selfish person in the novel because she hasn’t or didn’t do anything for the kid she just gave up on him and took her own life.

My favorite part was when papa gave the kid a Coca Cola, I think this is my favorite part because I can be Imaging the kid tasting the coca-cola for the first time, his reaction. I also like it because it shows how his father cares about him and decides to give it to him.
The worst/sad part in my opinion is when the kid "saw" this other boy. I think is sad because he never had a friend before so now his imaging seeing people, He needs to socialize but in this case how is he going to?

What I like about this book is that when they found a lot of sweet food or drinks. They found a can of coke cola the father gave the whole can to his son because the son was borning into this world. So the father gives all the sweet food for the kid because the father wants to let the kid know what good things taste like instead of what they are eating or drinking every day. Also when they went back to the father's house where he grew up. They did that because they passed it on their journey. The father wanted to stop there just because that is where he grew up and wanted good memories. Also, I like it when the father puts his kid in front of him because the father will do anything for the kid and will even kill his kid before he would. He doesn’t want to end up like the kid's mom and take out the easy way. The father does a lot for the kid. Also, I like it when the father takes off his coat and tries to warm up his kid so the kid doesn’t freeze during the night in the cold.
What I don’t like about the book is when the bad guys find the kid and his dad. The dad had to ditch the cart and grab his son and run to get away from the bad guys. But the thing is that when the bad guys actually have a truck and chase down the father and son. One of the bad guys got out of the truck to go to the bathroom but the father took him and pointed a gun at the bad guys' head. Then the bad guy threw something one way and jumped to the kid. The bad guy had a knife to the son's throat and the father from six feet back shot the bad guy in the head without hurting the kid. Later one the father would leave his kid alone when the father would go get firewood. Even though the kid wanted to go but the father kept yelling at the kid to say put and yell at me when something is wrong and take the gun to protect yourself. Also, I didn’t like it when the kid told the father we should go back for the kid and the dog and the father kept saying no to the son. But the father doesn’t understand that the kid needs someone his age to keep him the same and not different.
Pfeiffer
my favorite part of the book so far is how the dad has taken more responsibilities after mom died. I think how the dad is more mature and is there to be for his son. but I think he worries too much about him and his kid. one of the best parts of the book so far is when dad shot the cannibal while he had the kid. another one of my favorite part of the book is when they thought the were about to die and they run into the bunker with all the food. i like how the kid asks so many questions about the bunker and the owners of the bunker.
my least favorite part of the book is how the dad thaught he might have to shoot the kid because of all of the cannibals because he doesn't want his kid to get raped and eaten by the cannibals. a sad part about the book is how the boy was about to die if they wouldn't find food and water soon enough. i worried that when the dad found water and the apples that if he would make it back in time to the boy to give him the food and water.
so the best part of the book is when the dad is trying to show the kid something from the past like how the dad found a Coca-Cola and gave it to the kid but the kid wanted dad to have some too so they went on to go and find a bunker and the warry very happy so happy that they could not stop eating and sleep for a day and a half
but now my least favorite part of the book is when the dad walked into the house and discovered a lot of people under the house and they were all slaves down there the dad and the kid could not stay there so they ran from the house into the trees and stayed there for a bit.
200 words of the happiest points in the book the road in my point of view i think the happiest point in the book is the fathers dreams in his dream he dreams about his wife and all the good times they had before all of this happens when he dreams he thinks about how he had a full family a loving wife with the sun he always wanted now looking at the boy i think the happiest i see him is when he is swimming when the world is ending theres never time to smile time to play but he gets to do something fun for once his dad try to teach him how to swim as this could also be useful what if he had to swim through water to get way from some one it makes me laugh when some has that much fun with something that little it make me think i take life for granted a little bit love love between father and son is crazy they look out for each other all the time non stop they do everything together as they should they have eachothers backs through everything
The points in the book that i think are the saddest number 1 they come across carnivores cooking a baby as soon s they pulled the gun out people ran away then they had to look at human flesh that had been cook personally i would rather be dead then have to eat another person some times you just gotta know when the end is the end at a time like that would probably just end it for me and my kid that way there was no suffering i would just feel wose if my did had to go though his whole life not knowing where his next meal was gunna come from number 2 saddest thing the father says as soon as you start dreaming good dreams then your close to death i think everyone should dream good dreams life might be hell but don't you want better for your self with out hopes and dreams you'll get know where in life aim small miss small you miss 100% of all shots you dont take so if your not taking risks your gunna make it know where you could be in life so telling some one not to dream just doesn't work for me meier
Gurung
My favorite part in this novel is the boy saw the kid he is standing by the home when the kid saw the boy he run away I don’t know why the kid run away maybe he thinks he is a carnivore that's why he ran away from the boy but the boy wanna help him he try to help him but he scared and run away and after the boy saw the kid I think there are other people they are following them. My other favorite part is when they find food.
