Metaphors & Similes—Due January 5
Type three similes or metaphors you find in the book. Type them exactly as Cisneros wrote them. Include their page numbers.
Then, create six of your own, making connections to your own life.

My mom's heart is made of gold. My little brother's room looks like a tornado went through it. My sister's hair looks shiny like gold. My big brother is a night owl. When my little brother lost the remote, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. My dad as strong as a bull.
