What are the strengths and weaknesses of the Chief in the film?
I would say that the strengths for the chief would be for one his height because it's intimidating to anyone who doesn't know him and just how big he is too. Second would be how he is able to talk but doesn't till the end of the movie and the only person he talks to is Randal. Third would be his strength because when Randal was trying to escape he was trying to lift the water fauset but couldn't but then at the end of the movie it was time for the Chief to escape and so he went to the water fauset and attempted to lift it and he did then started carrying it and somehow threw it out the window for him to escape. His weaknesses, I don't he has any other than being "deaf and dumb" which in this case he really wasn't.
Which is the best scene and why? I think that the very last scene was the best because the Chief was finally able to “feel big” to leave. Even just to see the Chief leave was amazing to see because at the start of the movie he was very quiet and just standing around not doing anything. No one would talk to him because they thought he was deaf, but it was different for McMurphy. He would talk to him and change him. What do you think caused the Chief to leave? I think that McMurphy is the one that influenced him to leave. McMurphy would tell the Chief that he doesn’t belong here, and that they should escape.
What do I think causes McMurphy to attack Nurse Ratched. I think McMurphy attacks Nurse Ratched because she threatened to tell Billy's mother that he had intercourse with a woman in the ward. Billy said she doesn’t have to know but she still doesn’t listen to him and she makes him feel bad for what he has done. I think Billy’s mom is one of his fears because he instantly regrets what he did when she brought his mom up. The reason McMurphy attacks her is that Billy killed himself with a piece of glass or something like that in the doctor's office and that made McMurphy mad and he started to strangle her and almost killed her but Mr. Washington saved Nurse Ratched from McMurphy. What I still don’t understand is why Chief smothered McMurphy. I never really did understand why the chief did that to McMurphy after he said he’d never leave without, then grabs a pillow and smothers him. I never thought Chief would’ve done that to McMurphy because McMurphy was the only one to talk to Chief or actually include him into stuff like the vote to watch the World Series or in basketball. He teaches Chief how to play basketball and what to do and Chief plays against the workers with McMurphy and actually does well because he is a lot taller than everyone else.
The main idea about One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is getting your strength, intelligence, and courage back in order to escape or make it through the harsh treatments in the hospital before the late 60s and early 70s close out the dark ages where no one was treated as a human being or anything like that. The newbie is always the one to help people feel more holy and influential to escape. This has come to things that we have tied to before. The things that it ties into is Cool Hand Luke, Shawshank Redemption, and Color Purple. Each of these things shows rough themes, characters not being able to break, rehabilitation of bravery, and the main characters creating an impact on other characters who feel less human. The best part of the movie is technically the ending because it leaves us in closure and it shows how much more impacts Mac actually did to the Chief and the others who cheered and started to become fearless of Nurse Ratched. The ending has been regarded as one of people’s favorite endings of all time and that’s how movies should end nowadays because all we get are cliffhangers and cliffhangers. The reason that’s terrible is because you have to wait so long for the next movie to come out in order to finally get closure and it makes you too worried. The number one thing that I still don’t understand nowadays is why Ratchet did what she did to the patients and other people. How rough was her childhood, what did the mentally ill do to her, and is she hiding disorder from everyone she knows.
Nurse Ratched I think had a list or documents of all the patients and their strengths and weaknesses reason being or she at least had to know them reason being when she caught billy with that girl Candy when she was asking if he regretting it or whatever and he was giving the response she wanted basically bowing down to her and her commands. SHe automatically pulls out how his mom would feel about it and how close she is to his mom and how she wouldn’t like it and immediately after she says that he starts to obey and go to her knees begging her not to tell his mother about what he had just done. She seems to like to have control over them and their own weaknesses. To McMurphy it’s not having control or any change he doesn't prefer routine he prefers whimsical things and plans. A go with the flow type of guy. Another good example of this assumption is that when they were holding a meeting or a group therapy and Cheswick started to freak out over some cigarettes she kept ignoring his question and would act emotionless like dead like a zombie with no facial response whatsoever throughout the movie. Very disturbing watching it and her just looking around at the group dead or with no reaction to Cheswicks outbreak. The only time I see her make a different face then that disparaging glare of hers is when they walked into that room to find Billy with his throat slit lying lifeless on the floor and McMurphy well knew that it was Nurse Ratched’s fault so he got very much angry and tried to choke her so she would know how Billy felt doing what she caused. The only face she made was her catching her breath or like shocked at being choked by him like he wasn’t going to do that. zody
The main idea of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest is rejecting conformity and repetition and embracing individuality and self freedom. We see how each patient within the institution has a rather, really boring life. Full of repetitive nonsense and ideas that aren't helping them at all, even making them worse. It took one person. McMurphy to actually start teaching them to be more lively and be daring to try something new or take a risk. Just don't always follow the same routine like everyone else is doing here and try to make yourself stand out as a person. While yes, there are problems with that mentality but it did prove good and positive results from those who participate with McMurphy as he tries to make them do something new.

i would say mac a chief are kinda alike mac the difference between the to is mac isn't scared to get out of his comfort zone he's a trouble maker he likes living life on the edg vs cheif likes to pretend like he dosnt exsest but after mac gets on him for a while and pushes him to move forward in life cheif sarts to show that hes not scare anymore what i dont under stand about the movie is that mac wasnt even gunna be in jail that long so why didnt he just ride it out and get out of there instead of being stuck in a hospile i think i would rather have a really long work day over sitting with a bunch of people that dont even know if were on the same planet i dont think the people in the movie were dumb i just think that shock theripy screwed them up meier
What are the strengths and weaknesses of Cheif? Well, first I will start with the weakness that he has. The weakness of the chief is that he doesn't trust anyone. He does not like to get involved in stuff. He is always to himself and wants it that way. He never really had a friend to show him how to interact with other people. That why he is speechless. Another weakness of the Cheif is he doesn't show his emotions. He always has a straight face. He isn't smiling or showing any other emotions on his face. You can always read persone emotions when they show it but Cheif you can't really tell anything about him from his face. Now his strength. He is strong physically but not mentally. He is tall and huge, that's probably why people are scared to talk to him because he might do harm to them. But on the inside, he doesn't think of anything. He started growing his strength when Mcmurffy arrived and talked to him. He felt as if someone cared and enjoyed his company to the point he talked to Mcfuffy for the first time. That right there was probably his first word in decades and I think that he lifted a weight off his cheast when doing so.
how is McMurphy and Nurse Ratched alike? well to me they are both teachers to the other people. they are the power and strength they just use it in different ways. he uses it to help the men and she uses it to slowly kill their souls.
what are the strengths and weaknesses of chief? to me, I would say chiefs strengths would be he is smart, strong, and caring for people who care about him. his weaknesses to me would be his mental health and past, he lets nurse Ratched control him and make him die faster and faster. she doesn't feel like he has anything to fight for.
what is the main idea of this movie? this movie shows how it is inside a mental hospital, to show us it's not as 'nice' as it seems. it shows us that people didn't really care about mental health back then. it was just like having the flew to people. I think this movie was made to show us, the people not inside how it is on the inside, and how they live. how controlled they are and how they don't have many freedoms.
what do you think causes billy to kill himself? I think he had too much stress and didn't know how his mother would take everything that happened. he felt like he would rather die than see how his mother would look at him. he was tired of fighting and I don't blame him. he felt happy then nurse Ratched ripped it away from him like a monster. she is the reason he killed himself. she pulled him into deep water and let him drown.
1. What are the strengths and weaknesses of R.P Macmurphy in the film? R.P. MacMurphy is a charming guy who's energetic and just knows how to encourage people as well as inspire them. He can sometimes get out of hand tho, allowing emotions to take over as well as doing reckless things that could possibly extend the time he spends at the psychiatric ward. He can also be vulgar sometimes but genuinely seems like an alright guy underneath all of his theatrics and eccentricities. 2. What is the main idea of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'? I believe that main idea of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'is one about conformity and how it's ok to want spontaneity and overall change in general. You got Nurse Racthed who doesn't want change, this was seen when she was against the world series viewing as it would mess up the schedule, she, of course, offered Macmurphy a chance to change the schedule through voting and only one or two people vote with Macmurphy. No one else knows him and everyone is kind of just trying to conform and not stand out to much. They probably dread their schedule but they're so used to it, they don't really see the point in hanging it. It's only until they see Macmmurphy's desperation to leave do they all raise their hands. Seeing how much it meant to Macmurphy made them break out of their conformity or maybe they're conforming in favor of Macmurphy, which we can see as some of them still look around to see who has their hands up. Conformity isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it's the collective effort to break out a cycle that was truly amazing to watch. It might seem like just an ordinary hand raise but it can be interpreted as the collective effort done by the patients to non-conform to the ward's system.
How are … and … alike? Nurse R and The Chief alike? I think both of these characters are alike because they both put out a front. They both seem to show this mask for other people and trick others whether it be for militias intent or to just mess with others and feel smart about it. They both seem to just trick others so they can do what they want and not be questioned for it at all. I think that the Chief is playing stupid and deaf so they don't see him as a threat and don't bother him. I think that nurse R plays this helpful and kind person to her bosses and coworkers so that she can do what she wants with the patients without being questioned by others and herself. What are the strengths and weaknesses of….? The main character. I think that he is kinda just full of himself and doesn’t really see some of the stuff he says and does is problematic at all. I think that he really should have respect for those who do take their time and are medical professionals even though they aren’t doing the best or going about some things the right way. I think that his biggest strength that is kinda a problem for him is how he points out the wrong things but then he goes a tad bit overboard on it and just destroys his point on it which doesn’t really make his life in the hospital any easier. What do you still not understand about…? I don’t understand how none of the other nurses of faculty see what nurse R is doing as really wrong. I don't know if it's just a power thing or what. It seems like if you joining this line of work it would be to actually help these men and not just keep them in a straight line and help them in positive ways so they can leave better than they came and keep them in contact with the outside rather than just drugging them to make your work easier.
The chief and McMurphy are somewhat alike just the fact that they wanna get out of there and live there the rest of their lives in Canada. But they are total opposites and I’ll tell you why. They are opposites because they think differently. McMurphy is the outgoing type all the time and Chief is the shy quiet type at the beginning of the movie. He starts turning into the outgoing type. He is changing because there is someone that he trusts in that place. You can see the promise that Chief and McMurphy made. The reason I say this is because the Chief holds out his promise and goes on to have a life. But the Chief had to make a big decision before he left. The decision was to take McMurphy how he was or kill him and the Chief would go and still have his life with McMurphy but just in his memory. Chief made the decision to kill McMurphy because they really messed up his mind so Chief didn’t want him to live like that so he killed him. The strengths and weaknesses of McMurphy. The strengths are that he knows how to fight back and also how to go into people's minds and he likes to mess with people. His weaknesses are that he doesn’t know when to stop trying to control people. McMurphy plays to his strengths a lot in this movie because he is trying to mess with Ms. Ratch for the longest time thought he was even though she was playing it off. Pfeiffer
Budham How are McMurphy and Chief different? They are different by their character. McMurphy is an energetic guy and he wants to do what he wants to. He has fun and he likes to enjoy life. He doesn't want to survive, he wants to live a life. Chief is just surviving he is not leaving his life
I totally agree with McMurphy that he did a very good job teaching them to live life with happiness, fun, and entertainment. He is an absolutely good man even though he is in the mental hospital. If I was in his position I would probably be stressed and depressed but he is a strong man.
McMurphy changed the men's life, having fun with the teaching life is not to survive, live a life He tries to get ride their stress and depression so they can enjoy the life again
I think The main idea is about how to live a life not to survive
How are McMurphy and Deadpool alike? Well for starters Deadpool and McMurphy started multiple fights but there are of course differences between the 2 anti-heroes as well, let's list them, shall we. Let’s start with the mutant of mass destruction, Deadpool, he started as a merc who would go into a fight if it meant that he’d win while McMurphy on the other hand does what he wants for fights, and now for my favorite portion, combat experience. Deadpool on the left here has experience taking down mobs of bad guys with either his katanas or second amendment freedom fighters and he can do it while either high on coke or as sober as a man can get while McMurphy can fight anyone anywhere with just his fists but their intelligence, Deadpool can talk his way into a gunfight and walk out with his suit having bullet holes but McMurphy can swindle his way into selling dog crap to a cat with enough speech he can do just about anything as long as he kicks ass in the mental playing field.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of McMurphy? I believe that a strength of McMurphy is his ability to positively affect the people around him, the other patients before McMurphy’s arrival were gloomy, quiet, and to themselves, but after he came around, things began to change. He turned all that gloom into positivity and fun, the patients began to speak up more and develop their own thoughts, not just what Nurse Ratched was feeding to them. A weakness of McMurphy, however, is that he puts himself in bad situations, he doesn’t know when to hold off and keep to himself. He got himself more time in the ward due to these behaviors and these behaviors eventually led to his untimely downfall.
Rai What is the main idea of murphy? Mcmurphy main idea is life should be fun when you have one to live on the earth. You should spend your time with your friends or family when you have time to spend. You don't when you are going to die in your life just spending your life when you have it. I like the idea of this character because I like to spend my time with my friends and family. Life should be life fun without fun there is no life to live.
3. What are the strengths and weaknesses of being in a wellness place? The strengths of being a wellness center is that you get to be helped and you get free food and you don’t have to worry about anything or do anything. The weaknesses are that you can’t go anywhere, you can’t really do your own thing because they have a schedule which is the same for everyone. You don’t get any alone time really unless you are in your cell or room sleeping. You always have to be out doing things that the other people want you to do and what the nurses want you to do. 11. What do you still not understand about the film? I still don’t understand why some of the people in the wellness center get to leave at random times and they are not committed and some are just voluntary. I don’t understand why the voluntary people stay there if they can leave at any time. If they are not actually sick or have a problem if I was them I would leave. 2. What is the main idea of the film? I think that the main idea of the film is to make you think about the kids and other people with special needs. I think that the film includes them in a way we can’t because it’s through your heart not your mind or actions. 6. What do you think causes Murphy to be committed and not voluntary? I am not sure why Murphy is committed and not voluntary because he seems just fine and does not need any help. I feel that he should be voluntary just like the rest. I feel like he should not be there because he acts and sounds like he knows a lot and should not be in a place where he needs help. The film shows that he is just fine and makes it look like he knows a lot. The film makes it look like the other guys in there need help and looks like they need therapy but they are voluntary. 8. Which one is the best playing against the nurses and why? I think that Chief is the best player against the nurses because he does not say anything or have and actions on purpose. He keeps his thoughts to himself and just listens to everyone else. He does not respond to anyone. He keeps a straight face. He can hear and talk but he chooses not to because he wants to fuul them into thinking that he can’t hear anything or do anything.
What do you think causes McMurphy to act out? I think McMurphy acted out because he wants to have fun be able to do to different activities. I think He acted out because he wants to be noticed. What are some strengths and weaknesses of one flew over the cuckoo nest? some strengths is how McMurphy was able to change averyones mood make everyone happy again. he got the people to do what they dont usually do. a weakness in the movie was McMurphy anger problems. A weakness was how Mrs Ratchet got to McMurphy's breaking point. What do I think cause McMurphy to break? I think what broke McMurphy is when billy killed himself and made him go crazy and attack Mrs Ratchet
how are cuckoos nest and Shawshank alike in a way that cuckoos and shaw are alike is by there are people in prison so, in cuckoos nest, McMurphy is being put in a hospital because they thought he was not right in the head but for another reason is that he got put in prison is that he keeps getting into fights
so what was the main idea of cuckoos nest the main idea was that a person that was supposed to go to prison but convinced the people to send him to the hospitals because they thought he needed help.
To me, this movie is actually really good because it shows that some people need a change in their lives. It does not matter what is going on in the world some people just need that one thing that will change their lives and show them that a routine is not always the best for them, some just need to find that one thing or activity to significantly change their lives like chief was paying attention to the main character (i can not remember his name) and then chief actually talked to him for the first time when they were sent to the deal to get electric therapy and chief had a bond with him that was tight so he said “Juicy Fruit” and he was shocked that chief could speak and hear what he was saying the whole time and he gave him another piece of gum and the chief got a laugh out of that. This movie to me was actually really good cause like me you need to have that one thing to change your life and some things can show you that you are better than what the world sees in you.

How are McMurphy and Chief different?

What is the main idea of murphy?
