The beasts spoken of in the movie are entirely not real. They may have existed in the past, I do not know. They probably no longer exist because of a change in climate and a lack of proper ability to fit a niche in the food chain. I think that the movie is surreal in some ways but realistic in others. The people who live in the bathtub could be entirely real but the events that happen there don't seem to be possible without major help from the civilized world. The symbolism is realistic. People like to see themselves from a perspective that places them at the center of things. I personally believe that the symbolism behind this movie will have a great impact on anyone who watches it and that motivation is real.
I would have to say that 50% of this movie is real. Reason being is that people and their actions would be able to live like they are but not for very long so it is hard to believe that they are even alive with eating that nasty food lots of it raw without getting sick and dying. Also because of the floods trees and food would not be able to grow or live so how do they even have food and animals. I think that It is not that true either reason being is that I don't think that this movie really had a point or plot to it rather than you just have to stay strong and push through the hard times like hushpuppy did with her dad dying or leaving that girl she met who looked like a mom figure to her. - Valdez
There isn't a whole lot of this movie that is really what so ever. I don't think that there is anyone the would live there or be able to escape the people that took them away from there home. The biggest thing that isn't real are the giant creatures that were alive after being frozen in ice for years. The only thing that is relevant to this story is that people live the way they do in places similar to there home.
I think some parts of this movie are true, but other parts of the movie aren't true at all like I think the beasts known as an aurochs that have been frozen in the ice are all fake and not real. That's the only part of the movie that I think is "fake" and not "real". Otherwise, all the other parts of the movie are pretty believable. I think it's interesting how much Hushpuppy can live in her own house when shes only about 6 or 7 may be a little bit older. But I think it's good personally that she knows how to do lots of things on her own since her dad leaves her alone most of the time. One other thing that I liked about this movie was when her dad was teaching her how to fish with her hands and didn't use a fishing pole or anything. When Hushpuppy was younger her mother left her and she hasn't grown up with a mother figure all her life. Cause she left her and her father at a pretty young age. Hood- pd.4
Keisha Felcher. For the part of the movie that is real I feel like the bathtub actually exists and people do live in those conditions. I also don’t believe that the animals that are in it, the giant beasts aurochs, aren’t real. Because they just don’t seem realistic. Some people could be living that poor too. Also in the movie the little girl is talking to her mom and she is answering back which she is imagining her mother being there with her. I also feel like she imagines a lot of things when it happens. Like when she struck her dad in the chest she thought she caused a storm or something.
I this for the most part it seem like it is true on some of the real factores like the dad having heart problems and how he goes to the hospital without anyone knowing that he goes to the hospital and then hushpuppy found out because he has a robe and a wrist bandage from the hospital and she really mad at him because he wasn't supposed to leave and go get help because they don't believe in medicalliance help. They were supposed to be strong and not go anywhere besides there.
The not real part was when the aurochs came from the ice and they survive from all the years they been in the ice you think they would be dead. But nope they came out and when all over the country and destroyed a bunch of stuff like building and killed people and when hushpuppy stood up to them and then the kneed down because they never seen that before know. I think they were supposed to be like big humans like creatures and overrule everyone and someone stood up to them and told them that she is not affad of them and that they were friends.
the real part of this movie is the bathtub and how people live there with there houses in the air and the fact that they have almost no technology and how they were going to be evacuated out of there and it is true that others didn't want them to live there because it was too dangerous. what's true is the logical part you could think there was a teacher in the bathtub because of that pretty logical and if they had a teacher would they have a tattoo of an auroch on there leg they might but they also might not . but we got to think about the logical stuff about the movie the real is the stuff we know
How much of the movie is real and how much is true. The parts that are real the people are real those people lived in a weird place to us butt it was real and it was normal to them. Other parts that i think were real was that the people getting evacuated was real also hushpuppy finding someone that was like her mom i think that was real also with the people leaving the bathtub and then later on breaking out of the hospital and then leaving to get back home because that is were they belong. What i think is not real for starters i don't think that giant hogs from caveman times could have survived that long in the modern world plus i don't think they really exists i think that they might have at one point in history but they don't seem real. What is true i think that it true that at some point that hushpuppy did find her mom but there is no way of knowing if she found her but the person she did find was just like how she was described so i think that it true that she did find her mom but it is also true that she did not know how to take care of any one but herself so that is why she did not come with her also if that was her mom i think that she left because she did not know how to take care of a baby or be a parent so she left hush puppy and her dad because she didn't know how to take care of a baby. Another thing that i think is true is one of the think that i question about being real are the Aurochs because they were real in the movie but is it true that they were around in caveman times because there is no way to know that these thing were real but it could be true in caveman times but there is know way of knowing. So in conclusion that is what i think is true or real about that story.
I think only half of the movie is real. I am surprised that they are alive for that long eating all that nasty food or getting very sick. People may have lived in bathtubs but not for a very long amount of time. How do they even have animals that are alive when there isn't any food to feed them to keep them alive. The big beast is not even real because if that ice broke around them when they were frozen they wouldn't be alive for that amount of time. If her dad has a heart problem he wouldn't be doing as much as he is. I believe people do live in those conditions. The best part of this movie so far was when her dad was teaching her how to fish without a fishing pole just her hands.
I think that the bathtub is a real place and I think there are people living in it. If there were people living down there I'm sure they also were worried about the glaciers melting and the water rising. I believe that there were a father and his daughter living in a small lifted home. But I don't think that their life story was like that with the aurochs that showed up. But I also believe that when the storms come some people try to wait it out instead of running. I'm sure they have to do with what they can find and live in a raft for a few days. I also think they had the school down in the bathtub. I think it was true that the teachers could have tattoos that relate to what they teach. I think that because if you're a teacher in the bathtub I think you have to really care about your job and the kids that are in the class. I know that aurochs are real but they looked more like a cow than a wild boar. But I think it could be a different bread of them or something just made up. But I believe that in the bathtub they just drink and act like savages. I also would think it would be really easy to get sick in the bathtub because they walk through mud and other things all day. They also eat many different things that us they maybe don't cook it enough because they don't check the temperature on things. They may be also because they eat things that maybe you aren't supposed to eat. I also believe that they have been told to leave the area by the government. I'm not sure if I believe that the government went down to every house and told everyone to leave.
What is real about the movie is how Hushpuppy lived on her own with her Father Wink. The realistic part is how everyone lived in the Bathtub and how everyone ate while they lived in the bathtub and the environment around them. Everything else in the movie is believable I think everyone knew how to survive in the bathtub and how the dad was in the hospital with heart problems and was wearing a robe and a wrist bandage during the hospital visit. It was realist how Hushpuppy got mad at her had and told him he wasn’t supposed to die and how her father said other dads die. They were supposed to live and go get medicine for them to get better. Hushpuppy thought people that live in the bathtub lived for a long time and don’t pass away they get stronger when there weak and push through.
The unrealistic part about the movie is the giant pigs the aurochs were animals that came during the ice age and they died because of the ice age you would thought they would be dead. The movie gives you a twist about the situation the aurochs come back alive and destroy everything and everyone in their path what I thought was pretty cool was how Hushpuppy should up to the aurochs and how everyone else ran away scared about what was going on. I think the aurochs resemble as humans and how people are just afraid to them besides hushpuppy how she realized i’m not afraid to these aurochs and i’m gonna should up to them and not be scared anymore. It show’s be if a 6 or 7 year old little girl can stand up to a aurochs everyone else can stand up for what is right around them in everyday society.
why didn't they show actual real pictures of the bathtub to show us what was real about that place? how about they show real parts so we can get a look to compare. I looked up the bathtub on the internet and I didn't see any houses that far suspended up in the air and that part isn't that real and when they go to the strip club that part can't be real and I don't think there's a guy riding around with chicken food wrappers riding around with everyone he ate
I think the parts of the movie that is real is how people actually live. Some people can live out in the forest and jungle to make a living. They provide for themselves for food and wood and the material around them. For food, they kill animals like fish and chickens and get there own water from the river and the ocean. For there shelter that use wood to build houses which need to cut down trees and other types of material. Like the movie the father of hushpuppy has a box of a chevy for a boat with a motor on it so when they catch fish, they cup their hands then snatch fish really quickly. Like for us is we count on the government and working jobs to make money to pay for our cars and mortgage loans and taxes lastly cell phone bill. Another thing we have that they don’t are internet and cell phones that we could do all kinds of things which they don't have access to. There are homeless shelters for people like that but some people just want to live life free and get their own supplies and experience nature. They also don't have an education like we do but still try to learn the best way they can. The parts that I think are true are young children like hush puppy believe that where they live is actually way better than the lifestyle we live for example we have fast food places like McDonald's, Burger King and a lot more. The thing that I thought was really crazy that the children have to make there own living and have there own house to live in also they use stilts to put their house on so the water won't flood there house. Lastly, they count on everything out in the wild to have enjoyment and treat each other with food and disasters that may happen along the road also I don't think the ice age that made the animals froze would still be alive, I think they made them up.
Riley Larson Applied English 12 Pd.4 I believe that the vast majority of this film is real. There are people that live this way undoubtedly out there in my thoughts. Some people may disagree but I believe there are so many lifestyles and ways of living life out there that veer off from what some people would consider being 'normal'. Now I'm not saying there is a normal way of living life by any means. Everyone on the face of this earth has different ideas of what a 'normal' life is. That's why I never judge anyone for the way they live their life or what they do because anyone can be a good person inside for the most part unless they do multiple bad things due to being very bad or having a mental illness that makes them do things that are wrong that they don't always see as wrong.
In this movie I don’t think those beasts are real. I think the bathtub is a real place. I do believe that part of this movie could be true. I think people like her do you live in those situations and are forced to leave their homes for good . For example I don’t think is true is how do they survive with not much food because you barely see the meeting and when they are eating there eating a lot at a time. I don’t think they would be able to survive down there for a long period of time and less they have a constant amount of food which it doesn’t seem like they do. I think a part of that is true is when her dad is teaching her how to fish without a pole and that can be done because I’ve seen people do it it’s pretty hard to but it can be done. Finn
I think a lot of this movie is not real. I think the houses not being on the ground because of flooding is accurate but a little girl surviving by herself without any help for a few days is a little inaccurate just because no little girl is going to know the proper things in life to survive. Like eating and drinking water. I dont think that when they blow the gate and all the water disappears would actually happen. To be honest i thought that part wasnt interesting at all just because the way they made it seem was they were going to die if they went and blew up the wall but when they did there was no one around and the wall causing all the flooding was weak as well. I personally think that no movie is true just because i can tell when something is fake and in this movie a lot is wrong with it. Like the ice melting and the big animal comes out of it like the movie showed 3 of them running towards everyone but there was only one in the ice.
I think this movie is really as in the bathtub because there are people out there that just want to be left alone and want to try to survive off the wild and there are like that in the world and see many people do it. I don’t know if the people in the bathtub has their own holidays because who makes those holidays up because all the holidays that we have were made because something great happened in the past. So how would you determine who makes up the holidays? If something great happened in the past and we made a holiday out of it. I guess that would be the same thing that would happen in the bathtub if someone did something great like got food for everybody in the bathtub or helped rebuild all the houses after the bathtub filled up. I think that the beasts that came out of the iceberg are fake because there's no way that anything would survive that long in the iceberg. What I think that was really about the movie was when people try to fight back when people said that it wasn’t safe in the bathtub people like that that live by themselves don’t like to be removed from their home and some of them don’t like hospitals and stuff like that they want to do everything themselves it’s kind of like older people if they can’t do as much as they could of 10 years ago you would offer them help but they don’t want any help because they want to be independent. I think this movie is a little of both real and fake.
This movie is not true, but it is very real. It's not true as in it is probably not a fully true story and these exact specific characters are completely made up and fictional; however, similar things to this story do happen in real life making it real. There are really people out there who live completely cut off from society within America where they ignore the laws and raise their kids to also live their lives like they do. One thing in the movie that I know for a fact wasn't real was the aurochs. They are a real animal that once lived, but I refuse to believe that they melted, came back to life, then walked all the way to Hushpuppy to give her some type of internal strength. If the aurochs were all in Hushpuppy's head than I suppose I don't hate them except for the fact that all of the other characters saw them so they were real. For me, the aurochs took out a huge amount of realism out of the movie and I was mad when they showed up because I thought they were pretty dumb to mix in some type of magical extinct being to a movie that until that moment seemed realistic. The rest of the movie was pretty real. They really are kids like Hushpuppy out there and since she is young, she believes everything her father says and he probably is not a great role model on her or at least not the type of person you'd like to learn from at her age. Wink is the type of man one could learn a lot about, but you shouldn't learn about him when you're 6 and too young to understand him as a person and his stubbornness. Wink probably had a similar childhood to Hushpuppy or at least a very different childhood than me. -Joseph Wardlow
There are alot of things in this movie that are fact but few that are fiction. If you were too look up the bathtub you can see that it is a real place and people deal with everyday struggles. They are also consider not to be citizens. They deal with struggles, they wake up every morning figure out what they are going to have for breakfast then go on to figure out what they are going to do with there day. They could do alot more things then would people do that live in a city or a town. I almost see as the people that live in the bathtub as farmers because they rely on themselves to get the food make the food. They don't rely upon other people to find or get the stuff that they are in need of. There A Lot of thing that are questionable about the movie whether it is real life or something that has just been added from the movie makers to make it the story line be better then it would be with the smaller fine point details. There movie in my opinion the story could have a longer because there is more information that as the audience we are grabbing more to see whether the little girl would last in the bathtub. Also whether the fictional over sized wart hog would stay and possible mess with the bathtub in the future. They could have also started the movie earlier then it did because there is a lot more information that we could have known about her mother and how her and her father wound up in the bathtub for the rest of their life. The little girl is for know more than likely gonna live the rest of her life for the most part in the bathtub to just to hold the legacy with her.
Authority to me means a lot but not alot to me at the same time. When it comes to authority i believe only at a certain amount when it comes to it because there are some opinions towards specific laws that aren't up to some people authorite and have a very. There is a lot of different reason on for i don't listen to authority because you do not know what the person whether they are doing it for the best or are they doing it to cause harm and pain upon your life. When authorite goes downhill is when the person that beholds the power is just trying to get more money from there job because if they got more pull over or more arrest in a certain week they could be hold a lot more wrath upon people then say if there pay was all equal and only could get raise on not by how many arrest they get in a certain amount of time bout on how well they succeed in there job. Like nurse ratched she is very stubborn and really doesn't truly to have her patient be at there full and potential instead of always putting them down and not want to leave the place even when they went in there on volunteer. When mcmurphy comes in there kind of change in pace of the patients as if they are ready to start being productiveness in there life unlike just sitting and trying to figure why they are even in there in the first place. I feel as if the nurse is maybe finally sort of getting a change of mind towards how she wants to portray herself towards the patients and maybe she wants to switch on how she tries.
I don't think a lot of the movie is real. I think that maybe these people represent people who actually live like this, but how everyone treats everyone I don't think is real. The extinct animals obviously aren't real, they could have been real in the past, but I think that time killed them a long long time ago, and they're just a figment of her imagination. I don't think that they actually live on their own without their parents, and I don't think that they treat their kids like that all the time. Obviously when her dad says that her momma could walk in and start the stove on just by walking by wasn't real. Nobody could do that unless of course, they were a witch or wizard which obviously they don't exist either.
